@ turn_in_too

As far as I know, there is no charge for company acommodation. I am not sure if QR gives you the option of this or housing allowance though.

I don't think being an expat will be a problem, there are many expat pilots there. Plus it sounds like everyones common hatred of the company brings them together :E

The atmosphere isn't much more relaxed in so called greener pastures EK & EY ... more money but more expensive life (probably higher quality too) ...

flyforfood1 30th Jul 2011 15:54

30 guys recruited per month for various fleets and something like 107 resignations since Jan - in a period of "rapid expansion" the numbers literally don't add up. :yuk:

flapsfullretard 30th Jul 2011 16:49

to get people to join Qatar Airways, it needs to offer:

1. Pension
2. MORE MONEY

People don't go to Qatar because they like the scenery/relaxed atmosphere/wonderful management....they go there for the cash.

So to get more pilots you need to pay up on 1 and 2!!!

Else more leave is cancelled = worse conditions = more resignations = more leave cancelled = less joiners etc etc etc

Management, go to management school, do the classes, get a grip and try sort out your problems and enable the poor chaps there to live and work for fair pay and fair treatment.

what to do, what to do?????

AV8Whore:
I think we can summarize the actual situation in Qatar Airways today by one sentence:
"Qatar Airways is expanding well beyond its "capacity"."

JCUERVO 30th Jul 2011 18:08

This company has been using the expression "Expansion" as an excuse for MEDIOCRITY for way to long.

The company culture here is that of a spoiled child pointing fingers and never mature enough to accept its responsibilities and grow from its faults, and like such a child will eventually never make it in the world on its own and doomed to live in a vicious cycle...Of course unless daddy government is paying the bills...

One last note (And not meant to insight any racial grudges) How come there is a "Necessity" for our leave to be screwed in Christmas time and New Years and yet non for Ramadan? Wouldnt it make more sense for the Non-Muslim crews to operate during the holly month and for the Muslim crews to operate during Christmas holidays? That way everyone gets what they want...

I AM PLANNED FOR INTERVIEW ON THE 16th OF AUGUST, ANY BODY ELSE PLANNED FOR THOSE DATES AND ONE MORE THING THEY HAVE WRITTEN TECHNICAL EXAM ANY IDEA ABOUT THAT ?

aviationboy 30th Jul 2011 23:25

The new development Barwa sounds interesting if that may be offered to crew in the near future

@ hazy

is that for fast track SO or FO?

Paper Lad 31st Jul 2011 07:24

To help with the 320 crew shortage we will soon be welcoming contract Capts who will be offered commuting contracts. The deal will give a block of approx 7 days off per month but this will not be available to present employees.

That should cheer everyone up:eek:

loc22550 31st Jul 2011 10:52

So everybody will resign, and re-apply for this commuting contract!:8

Well if commuting contract is possible for contracts pilots..it should be possible for all 320 pilots.!!
And the Shortness of crew as well as the resignation rate will be quicly resolved, believe me!(even if it goes with a cut in the salary).

Non Zero 31st Jul 2011 11:09

I've heard that too and Paramount seams one of the recruiting agent!

loc22550 31st Jul 2011 11:43

I do confirm :"paramount" is recruiting A-320 Captains and F/O for Qatar airways...but nothing "officialy" mentions commuting contract.
But if people are looking for a commuting contract, they won't come to qatar, better options exist in Saudi,China( 6weeks on 3 weeks off), for almost the same salary as here!
"Terms and conditions..will be "discussed" during interview!":}

Paper Lad 31st Jul 2011 12:19

Call Parc Aviation!

Fubaliera 31st Jul 2011 21:11

Qatar Airways is so cheap they need to use a second rate agency like paramount. Why not Parc or Rishworth, anyway no were does it state that commuting is on offer. Qr is capable of promising just so you will come then change the story once your here. welcome to Doha, the unhappiest place on earth.

hazy85 31st Jul 2011 22:02

Any body could help , what to expect in the technical quiz

loc22550 1st Aug 2011 03:48

School fees: minimum age 4, Maximum age 21.

Non Zero 1st Aug 2011 04:24

@ Fuba
And in what terms Parc or Rish are better than Paramount? You might help new joiners to choose one or the other!
