Gulf Air 3 month notic period

Hello everybody,

I just want to let everyone now how gf will treat you after you resigned if you do not intent to jump ship, if you intent to complete your contract notice period and do everything according to the book. As we all know the notice period is three months. Depending on when you hand in your papers you might get lucky and get one more salery. then they will block your salery, stating something like: WE ASSUMED YOU WOULD JUMP SHIP, after they had send you on leave which YOU told them you dont need your leave. if you have a decent chief flight which i most defenitly had, he will help you to get what is rightfully yours YOUR MONEY....But the company needs the money, so they want you to work for free and just not pay you. They will tell you your bond is not cleared eventhough you told them from the day of signing your papers how everything will be solved. In the secound month same sh... different smell, you will have to wait for your salery, again explain your intentions and come to the VERBAL agreement (because they on there hand will not sign anything but want you to sign your life away). they will tell you that everything will be ok as long as you work and you wait for your last settlement:D...as you might be someone who believes in the decency of the human being, you believe what they tell you, just do your job and think of nothing evil.... well wrong thought. you on your hand think everthing will be ok. you will get you ticket home and your last paycheck because you intent to pay your debt just get out clean.
now is the last two days of your repatriation process, you finish all your paperwork go up to payrole to get your money only to learn that nothing is as THey have told you. you talk to hr managemen only to hear that there never was an agreement with you, that you will NOT get your passport until you sign some bogus, shady paperwork and you will not feel safe anymore. my advice to EVERYONE is dont trust the management, because they all lie to you in all colors of the rainbow, you are nothing more then a slave they will not do anything brake all the rules they have laid out in the begining. decency does not exist, no wonder so many guys jumped ship over night without anyone knowing about there intentions. treat how you want to be treated and TREAT HOW YOU ARE TREATED. dont expect manners or anything like that. as you can see this is someone who has been played very bad....:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Masalama gulfair together we will never do it

And the point of that rant is???:confused:

outhouse 22nd Jul 2007 15:17

I guess the rant is that he is pretty pist off with the leaving process. Be it maybe self inflicted to a point but still rant worthy. Me I would have just pist off.

Does everyone with a gripe have to be subjected to your fu:mad:ing critisism. Every single GF topic is inundated with your critisism of people's comments. Who appointed you as moderator?

Wasnt a criticism dude take a chill pill...seems a bit incoherent is all...maybe a detailed post with some specifics would be beneficial..have heard these stories and find them disconcerting as we all at some point will be in the position to leave..some factual point by point posts on this matter would be most interesting....

Dont tell me you did not know this when coming to the sandpit...

Exactly the same happens at QR and I am sure it happens as well in the UAE...

Modern day slavery but nothing you can do about it!

BTW: you forgot to mention the fact that they can block your bank accounts as well!

So the originator did not lay out his post with bullet points and sub points to describe his gripe, however he managed to get across to me the salient points of his (gripe) post and his discontent. If one assumes that the basic content reflects the type of response that one would get from the company on tendering your resignation and following accepted notice periods. The only option is to piss off when ready.
Will this attitude affect your ability to find a acceptable flying position back in the real world, I suspect not. The reputation of these 3rd world operators with 1st world aspirations is well known and the low level of management expertise also well known. Having had the unfortunate necessity to travel with GA recently and seeing some of the problems experienced by the crew concerned, generated by poor management and planning I am surprised that the flight actually managed to depart at all. However congratulations on the way the flight was managed once under way.

Dear IB..I also think that LOC star point was relatively clear!!! But I also agree with some of your views. When someone's time is up than bye bye, that's it that's all....It doesn't do anythink to cry and bitch if you're not going to do something about your situation!!! As for GF, what to do...That's the way these guys are and it's not us who will change their poor way of interpesonnal relations...They lied the first day we showed up there with housing, school and all the rest!!! Boys the time is up and please don't be scared of the futur, make a plan, stick to it and cary out with no reminiscent. Good luck to all and MOVE FOWARD :ok:. If all the other posts are correct ( AD leaving...etc etc ) I am not sure what signs someone needs to see the light !!

Everyone has their own opinion about dealing with the office, but when you don't get paid the whole equation changes. They have a special talent of making every little task seem like brain sugery in the desert, in a tent, during a sandstorm, using a plastic knife.

Power to anyone who gets out of the puzzel palace with half their sanity.

Cheers

So in the end LOC STAR did you get your money owed, and passport returned to you???

CI100 24th Jul 2007 09:50

First of all LOC STAR is not "The guy" whom wrote those comments. He just posted them. This actualy happend to "flyboyflies". He is back and save in Zee Europe.daaa!

He received the passport after he signed a letter stating that he will be paying the remainder of the bond in full by August 31st. Mr. NO eyebrows at HR sent him to the legal Department. He wrote beside his signature that he is signing this form under threat and against his will.

Guys the best way to do this is just get yourself a lawyer and have him deal with so called “legal department”. And clearly state in your resignation letter that if Gulf Air fails in paying any of your salaries you would just simply stay home and not show up for any rostered flights until the matter is solved. Don’t play any softy with these guys….don’t worry about burning the bridge either, trust me there would be nothing on the other side of the bridge in a year or so for you cross.

jackbauer 24th Jul 2007 09:54

Its a sad state of affairs when it gets to dirty tricks to keep pilots. However be aware that under Bah law if you have any legal case outstanding against you, you will not be able to leave the country. You simply will not get thru immigration. Be careful before taking the legal route as GF can do the same and trap you.
