QR places huge order for A 350 in Paris?

Hi folks,
just heard CNBC saying QR has placed huge order for A350 starting delivery from 2014. A deal worth 14 billions $ US. I guess we will do a lot of overtime.
Cheers.:ok:

Here it is....

1. Qatar agrees to take 80 A350s including A350-1000

Middle Eastern carrier Qatar Airways has signed a memorandum of agreement to buy 80 Airbus A350XWB twin-jets, including the largest version, the A350-1000.
The agreement, signed in Paris today, covers 20 A350-1000s, 40 A350-900s and 20 A350-800s with deliveries from 2013.

Qatar Airways becomes the first customer to commit to the A350-1000.
It supersedes a 2005 deal – made before Airbus redesigned the A350 – under which Qatar Airways was to take 60 of the type, a mix of A350-800s and -900s.

The carrier had intended to equip these with General Electric GEnx engines; as yet there is no GE engine for the revamped A350XWB, and no engine selection has been indicated for the revised deal.

Qatar Airways chief Akbar Al-Baker says the airline will benefit from the A350’s cockpit commonality with other aircraft as well as its fuel efficiency.

surely not, hi man. Sometimes even though there're two pilots it's single man show. Nevertheless I understand now why female CC aren't allowed to the cockpit. They are "evil" of course and want only to distract us from performing. Why don't we call the airplane then axis of evil?:ugh::ugh:or temptation box?:ok:

Panama Jack 31st May 2007 18:51

At Qatar Airways, female Cabin Crew are not allowed to enter the flight deck?!?!? Wow!

Black Stain 1st Jun 2007 05:40

80 x A350??? Who gives a ? Go fly it yourself. You could not pay me enough money to waste my time until 2013 in this  to fly just another shiny aircraft.

All recruiting airlines have shiny aircraft. Dah....

female Cabin Crew are not allowed to enter the flight deck
Yeah it's stupid but true. CS/CSD/R1 are the only cabin crew allowed through the pearly door to speak to God.

Apparently management are worried that some cabin crew will flirt and cause the pilots a dangerously distracting Swollen Leg Syndrome.

Funny thing is that the banishment rule applys to female and male cabin crew. Guess managment know the likes and dislikes of their pilots very well (No.... not me).

Management stupidity and immaturity have no bounds in this place.

Money (for material assets and very top management) is no issue. Enough said.
It will never be in the next 10 to 15 years at least.

roger reed 22nd Jan 2008 21:23

wher did u come up with that rubbish panama jack!!!!its really hilarious whn u said female cabin crew cant come!couldnt u come up with a better rumour hehheheheh.any crew can go into the cockpit when its a safety issue .other than that csd cs and r1 can enter to simply maintain privacy for their customers and so crew can spend time adhering to customer needs other than chattin away with cockpit.dunno wats wrong in tht ...otherwise the whole set of crew hav no walls built watsoever.

scanscanscan 23rd Jan 2008 01:53

Well stop my engines at 600 feet...
That is so totally unfair...why should cockpit crew be allowed to enter female CC if female CC cannot enter cockpit crew?...I am going to file an ASR about this!

Airbus has signed a $16bn (£8.1bn) deal to supply 80 of its forthcoming A350 aircraft to Qatar Airways
No surprises here. They've got loads of money. It doesn't matter (if) it works. It's important to be new pretty often.:8
