Emirates/Etihad Comparisons

It appears that Etihad offers a better pay and benefit package as compared to Emirates when viewed from their respective career pages on their websites.

Can anyone tell me if this is a true reflection or are there hidden dirty secrets. The rent-to own villa Etihad offers sounds great but in reality would have little value after it is buldozed to make room for the latest project since you dont own the land anyway.

Is the company accomodation acceptable?
Does 115,000 cover a villa for a family of 4?

Comments?

Hi AndyMann,

You beat me to it. Was looking at the same.
It seems Salary and Flight Pay is better at EY.
Meal allowance I think similar.
Education Allowance EK is better.
No medical or Loss of Licence Insurance from EY according to their site.
Both have end of service benefits but no idea what EY offer.
EK also offer Duty transport, EY does not.

As real estate in the UAE looks like the main reason behind the high inflation. The fact that EK offer company accomadation is a bonus, instead of having to deal with greedy landlords.

Anyone in the know that could offer more info greatly appreciated.

A bit of quick math based on a 75 hour month and a few layover trips would seem to put a starting F/O's pay at around 30,000. The primary school allowance are about the same but the secondary is about 13K less, but you can get it for 4 kids versus 3 at EK.

It appears as though Etihad are serious about attracting pilots to the company. I keep hearing rumor's about basings, it might tip the scales in EY's favor.

Just to give you some informtion about EY. They too have company accomadation. They also have full medical coverage for you and your family free. They just approved overtime and a loss of license but to be implemented later on this summer. So offer pretty good.

Transportation is coming

Heard EY will be providing transportation to and from work for the pilots soon.
