GF 3% Increment

No Sign of the annual 3% increment!!!! Does management just do their damndest to piss off the Pilot body. This is a contractual increment written into every pilot contract and someone has chosen to ignore this FACT !!!! A contract is a two way agreement, we fly to the best of our abilitities you honour your side of the agreement and pay our due wages.:ugh:

Possum 15 19th Mar 2007 23:01

Nothing at all to do with Honour.
This increment is based on the entirely reasonble premise of a Satisfactory Performance Review.
GEUSS WHAT! For the vast majority of the years since 1990 your (our)performance just HASN'T BEEN GOOD ENOUGH!
ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS?

The last "general increase" i recieved for this quarter was March last year....so wait and see if it happens by March:confused:

Spoke To Some One From Personnel And She Assured Me We Are Getting 3% Inc.i Wont Believe It Untill I See It In My Pay Slip.

i think the annual increment is based in the individual`s performance not the whether the company performs well.

tbaylx 21st Mar 2007 21:32

That's a good one, exactly how do you evaluate a pilots performance and who does this.

Before you answer simulator etc consider we are using an AQP environment in training that is strictly pass/fail. If the guy shows up to work and does his job, then how do you decide he isn;t worth his increment? I also don't remember reading anything on the increment being performance related in my contract..course with inflation and the low US dollar 3% is diddly squat in the big picture anyway.

cheer up guys Pay increase definitely on the way . I shall not tell you my source.

Spirit 22nd Mar 2007 12:40

The thing is, that GF will have to add more than just 3%/year.

This is not like just after 9/11 anymore, when you could pick up pilots on the streets...

The majors in North America and Europe have started hiring again, so many furloughed guys will soon begin heading back + apparently local bahraini guys are starting to leave GF too, some going to Air Arabia, some going elsewhere. In order to make it attractive to stay for anyone, the company should stop comparing flightcrew-salaries and benefits with the rest of Bahrain, and start comparing it to what other carriers in the region offer.

As an expat, being somewhat far away from home, I couldn't care less if my location is called Bahrain, Abu Dhabi or Dubai...but local, homebred fellas leaving: If that ain't a wakeup-call for GF, then I don't know what is?

Stratosphere6000 22nd Mar 2007 12:44

Well sounds good Tachi but is it the 3% you're refering to or a general pay rise in terms of Basic, Housing, Schooling etc, which would match the standards set by the other carriers in the ME?

Desert_Storm 23rd Mar 2007 15:55

Totally agree with you spirit. If GF is comparing our salary with the rest of the working population in Bahrain not only we won't get any increase but most definitely, they'll drop it since we´d be overpaid; bear in mind how much a month a maid or even a FA makes: 200 BD? What you say about this homebred pilots should serve as a wake up call to GF management (André Dosé) otherwise, they´ll run out of pilots very soon and very fast; yeah, 9/11 situation (shrinking companies) no longer exist and many pilots will try to go back to their hometowns. Inshalla the situation gets better for us man.
Cheers and tail wind (on CRZ of course ;)
