EK Trade your leave for $$$$

July and Aug seems pretty interesting months since we are short of 25 F/O's on the bus.
Some guys were just asked to trade their annual leave for ...some bucks!!!
Would you guys believe this?
How come we're that short? Don't we have an exiting package out here?:ok:

Icare,

Is that a typo error ????

Is it "exiting" or "exciting"

"exciting" remains to be seen.

"exiting" seems to the norm at the moment.

If they are offering money for leave that means one thing. They are desperately short of pilots. In the summer months (July and Aug) I have a feeling they will be parking aircraft or cancelling flts (just like January) This time however there will be no excuses.

I would like to think that the recent payrise is to test the wter.

We live in hope.

I have summer leave and have not been asked to give any up for pay

... am I sorry? :{

No! :ok:

The company buying leave back is the thin edge of the wedge. Next thing will be the taking of leave for money with no choice, then they can turn around and say "oh -look, you do not need all your leave, think we will reduce the entitlement"
Have nothing to do with it.
have seen this happen at another company.
Anyway, how do you put a price on a day with the family outside DXB
They could not afford even one of my days leave

Sorry Uplink, well spotted, but even with the C missing, it still matches right into the context!
The only guys being called are those who are in exess of the reg 42 days though.

Cheers
