Emirates Adds Flights to Asia

Emirates Adds Flights to Asia

Emirates has announced a series of new flights to destinations in the Far East, citing increased demand.

Starting Oct. 1, Emirates has increased service between Dubai and Hong Kong with two additional flights every Thursday and Saturday. The new flights have increased the airline's capacity by 17 percent, from 12 flights to 14 flights per week.

Starting the end of October, Emirates will fly directly to Jakarta three times every week - Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays - returning to Dubai via Singapore. The city is also served four times a week by Flight EK348, flying via Colombo and Singapore, and three times a week by EK346 via Kuala Lumpur.

Emirates will add six more weekly flights from Dubai to Singapore starting Oct. 30. The new flights represent a growth of 33 percent, bringing the total number of flights between the two cities to 24 per week.

From the end of October, Emirates will offer five weekly direct flights to Kuala Lumpur in addition to three flights via Singapore. The new schedule means that the airline will serve Kuala Lumpur with a total of eight weekly flights.

From early November, Emirates will add one more direct flight from Dubai to Bangkok - instead of Wednesdays, flight EK 372 will now fly on Thursdays and Saturdays - serving the city with a total of 19 flights a week.

Looks like EK are doing well. Why are they not sharing the wealth?! Will the pilots be working harder or have more rest given in between patterns?

So what happened to Hamburg and second JFK then?

QB:cool:

QB - the second JFK is on the pairings list for November. As for Hamburg?? Not enough pilots methinks...

It would seem that the second JFK is on the parings, but has been delayed as well, So that is New York, Hamburg, Geneva all on the back burner.
Would that mean the lack of new recruits and resignations are starting to bite

Hamburg has been re-scheduled to Feb 2006. The problems are more to do with late 777 deliveries and the strike that was ongoing at Seattle. This has caused the aircraft to be re-deployed around the network.

Of course whether there are crews to fly the 777's when 4 of them arrive next month is a moot point, eh chaps. :hmm:
