A 319 in Middle East
Hello
I would like to have information about the companies based in middle East which have Airbus A319 in their fleet. Thanks |
Qatar Airways (QR) is the only airline based in the Middle East that uses the Airbus A319 on Commercial / Revenue Services.
They currently have two A319 LR aircraft, registered A7-CJA and CJB. They also have a VIP configured version of the same aircraft, used primarily by the Royal Family of Qatar, although it is "technically" avilable for lease to external parties. As far as I am aware, the only other A319's in the Gulf are corporate aircraft. (In carrying out this assessment, I have considered EK, SV, KU, MS, IR, GF, EY, QR, RB, WY, RJ, ME. - I have probably missed out someone, or gotten one wrong). In North Africa, TunisAir and its subsidiary, TunInter, also operate a couple of A319's. |
If I remember correctly the only A319 operator in the region is the Egyptian airline, Lotus Air, who operate a single example (SU-LBF).
|
A300Man-2005, Tuninter have no Airbuses, they only have ATRs and and a B732.

Correction: the Airbus 319CJ belongs to DaimlerChrysler Aviation in Stuttgart Germany .....

Are NAS operating A318's or 319's?
Mutt. |
|
Airmemphis,
I've seen that aircraft a number of time but as it didnt show up in soompak's list i started to think that it was a 318. Thanks for the clarification :) Mutt |

Have they actually started scheduled flights?

NAS and 3 319's
Hi Guys!
NAS has just received its 3rd 319 for a private owner based in Dammam. The 2 others have entered the approval test flights for the PCA to issue a part 121 certificate. They have passed the ground tests and are now suppose to fly 50 hours to complete the process. They hope to start the scheduled flights in July, which is gonna be very tight. A 4rth one is on its way for the end of the month... Take care all, Dustrat:ok: |
True, NAS has 3 right now and waiting for #4.
Al-Kayala is the name of the 121 operation being started ny NAS. I believe they are in business class configuration. |
Correction
Just to be more specific.
The company operates 2 319's in 44 seats configuration, to fly regular scheduled route in the kingdom for business class like pax. The 2 other bus are 320 in VIP config. One will be based in Dammam and the other probably in Bahrein. They also signed an agrement to manage an A340-600 from Dammam. Take care, Dustrat |
dustrat, was that the A346 that was ordered by a 'saudi company' during the Paris Air Show last week?
|
That is exact Air-Memphis.
But all this a non-event since they are working on an agreement with airbus for a year and a half. They first were looking at the A380, but couldnt be ready on time. Sheick Mohamed, from Dammam, will start up a regular service to north-america with it. DustRat:ok: |
