Come on boys own up!

Just interested to find out all those who read this forum, who don't ever dare write nothing, say nothing, do nothing, who might put in a post? As an interesting check of all EK ppruners (which in conversation on the deck appears to be ALL), it would be interesting for people to post a quick note here to acknowledege that they read this forum. Why bother to do this? Well if you cannot have a group discussion (union), it would be interesting how many of the work force read here to keep up with what is effectively union speak and the only way the EK deck transfer opinions quickly. If you want to show that you are interested in knowing whats going on, outside the control of the contact magazine (since cut by management), post a reply to show how many are interested in rumour as the fact (contact mag) has been taken away from us!

It's your vote, its not location, location, location, but communication, communication, communication that is and has always been important.

Jack Schidt,

Are you aware that Pprune has a private forum for Emirates flight crew...

Emirates
Also known as 'M Rats'. A forum for the large pilot group based in the Sand Pit. To apply for access to this private forum please email the moderator at [email protected]

I'm a pruner,

Are you aware that Pprune has a private forum for Emirates flight crew
Joining that forum requires revealing your real identitiy to an anonymous entity (emma rate), which unfortunately will stop almost everyone from doing so, given the climate of persecution at EK.

Anyone that talks to any management people will be aware of the management reaction to the safety report that was recently posted here. Some of them were looking for a head to put on a stick.

Hi MUTT, of course I am. The purpose of the post though was to try to get as many EKrs to reply as above. Why do it out in the open you might ask? It will save the management the hassle of logging into the EK forum and to hopefully realise that this has become the only real dissemination of company information (albeit rumour most of the time).

Come on lads the view total is going up, time to just say I do without any legal implications! IT MAY HAVE TO BE THAT 75% OF THE VIEWER TOTAL WILL BE MORE THE REAL FIGURE AS A GUESS!

Me too...

Rev hit the nail on the head re the 'EK' forum...not the place for open, candid discussion.

Rumour has it that ways have been considered by the company to try and trace those who have contributed on the general forums in the past and exposed EK for what it is. This threat alone makes many think twice before posting anything. What a sad state of affairs we have.

bluewater 20th Jul 2004 04:18

Hands up, I am a ppruner. It’s unfortunate that there is that underlying feeling that “managers” read the thread and consequently put off open discussion however maybe that is a good thing as long as discussions are professional and truthful without getting personnel which can sometimes be hard I appreciate.

jack schidt 20th Jul 2004 04:28

Thankyou "Shake" although I was sure it should have been spelt with an ei or ie as I know your spelling is a bit out, you can choose. By no means is this post intended to be a slander on the EK authority or the company itself. I thought that even Dubai Law allows free speech as long as you are not disrespectful to higher authority. I am not trying to be anything other than using this forum for what it is designed to be used for, discussion. Should you think I have been anything otherwise then please correct me. The further purpose of this thread is to enlighten potential applicant FD of the concerns at EK of which truth is that don't post on here in fear of being fired and only say the nicest things in the Rats forum where all the world doesn't know whats really happening regarding happiness and contentment in EK. Got to go to remove spyware now incase the IT Maafia trace me down. Ciao Bella.

When there are currently no mechanisms for pilot feedback to management then the frustration felt by many of us often boils over on Pprune. Pilots meeting have proven to be very ineffective and after one/some pilots lost thier profit share for expressing their opinion in 'open' forum what value has it now.

Unfortunately due to the general attitude within the company Pprune has become the only place away from the flight deck to disseminate information and opinion, much of which has been to the detriment of the companies reputation.

It is a ridiculous situation but one that doesn't seem to be changing in the short term. Trust and respect are the main casualties of the past few years regime and whilst the focus seems to have been on the Profit Share this may now seem a very short sighted policy.

I believe that it can still be recovered and if we believe that many in their Ivory Towers do read these pages then they could be used to present a more constructive way forward and get us all on the same side. With increased competition for passengers and pilots from the likes of Etihad (30% pay increase?) we will need to work together...then again...

Shake, with an 'a'.
