Starting with EK in July?

Anyone out there got a start date on the 7th July, 777 course, if so see you there.

By the way, if you have applied the interview is ok, as they say just be yourself. Its a good 3 days and they make you feel welcome, unlike " the worlds favourite".
Iam looking forward to it, got a few mates flying out there who have all been there for a while now and they all seem to enjoy it.

so good luck.

Timeframe

After I applied, it took around a month before I recieved a mail stating I was put in the "holding pool". The call for an interview came about two months later. After the interview it took six weeks and two days to get the result.

A friend of mine got a telephone from them about two months after his application. They wanted him to fill a place at an interview on short notice. Good for him, he rejected.

Be prepared - it takes a little study!!

He didn't even have his ATPL yet! I also think it matters a lot what airline your experience is from!

I think it is a lot of be there (in the pile) at the right place at the right time. I've heard that there is som 1000 pilots in the pool now

It seems like a good place to spend some years. I'm just waiting to get the results from my medical, and I'm outa here!

Cool emirates wannabe

tajfa

you did not say what sort of experience you had and what equipment , would appreciate any new scraps of information particularly if you had any command hours or not.

I'll try and not get too personal. (A man's got to hang on to his little secrets que!?)

As far as the airlines go, a few of the north european ones are a very good stepping stone. BA is supposedly still on top of the hitlist, and Scandinavians are known to be a serious and cheerful bunch!

A have a few thousand hours as copilot on jets, and one thousand in command on a commuter. Total is six thousand plus.

Having been accepted it's easy for me to say but, I don't think it makes much difference what airline you are from, they seem to be looking across the board at experience levels.
With the rapid and large expansion rate they have at the moment they want people they can promote early and also people who are happy to be F/O's for a while longer.

I fly for a european charter airline flying the B757 & B767, good command time on both and some training experience, who ever you are and whatever your level of experience, if you fancy it have a go.

It does take an age though, quite a few months for the interview, six weeks after that to find out if you have been successful and then after the medical bits another few weeks to be offered a place.

Be patient, iam sure it will be worth it!!!!

Thanks ZOMP for those words of encouragement, I have a mate on the inside who is trying to find out where i will be living but if you know more then please, enlighten me!

Ps. The mate in question lives in the villas over the road from the airport so I know all about them.

I'm going out to Dxb soon myself. I thought that most of the villas were in the Jumierah area, the airport villas are news to me.

What are they like, what are the good and bad points?

Does anyone know where people with families are going to be housed for the next 3-4 months?

Don't know if this is the right place, but...

I have an interview for a ground instructional job with Emirates in the near future and one part of the selection procedure is a "short technical test".

Has anyone out there had experience of this and could you give me a heads up as to what it may involve?

Thanks

Tech Test

Donīt know if itīs of any use but the pilot tech paper i thought was quite hard work, as far as pilots are concerned itīs almost ATPL level on differing sujects, Nav, Met, Intruments and Performance. Not sure what it will be for you but it could be the same.

Have fun !!!!!!!

To the chaps starting in July, I have just seen your new villas, they are in a good area and very nice looking, I hope this brings you a little peace of mind.
