Qatar rated pilot bond

Hi all,
It ask if you will accept a bond for even a rated pilot ….. is this correct ? If so what kind of bond arrangement is this as it seems a little excessive if you hold a current rating for the type they have advertised . Any insight appreciated ✌️

If you find it reasonable to be fully bonded for a quick checkout then accept. Typically at QR, type rated pilots are not bonded. Personally I would not accept those terms with respect to a job offer.
If for the application process then you can answer however you like and decide if the time comes.

Generally speaking there is no bond for pilots Rated and current on Type. Some Rated guys have been bonded if they haven’t flown in 2 years on the actual aircraft or they are put on say the 787 and all of their time is on 777, even though it’s a common Rating. As the previous poster said, you need to weigh it up for yourself, if you’re planning to stay for 3years+, in reality it won’t effect you much.

If everything runs smoothly, count on 2.5 months+ from start to Final Line Check. Includes around a month on the Ground at the start doing all the ground courses and formalities (Medicals etc) then Sims and Line Training.

Thanks! just one more question if you are ok, In case I actively bid for European layovers, will it be possible to get more than 4 layovers a month? or is A320 mostly for quick turn around flight?

It’s unlikely you’ll get 4 or more. Even if you did one month, the bidding works on satisfaction, so you’d be getting close to your optimum roster for that month, which means the next month you’d be ‘owed’ less. The European destinations tend be quite popular. Tbh if I want a destination and don’t get it I just go on my Off or Leave. You get 4 consecutive days Off also each month (and sometimes you can get 6 if you bid for it).
