Yeah, the official acceptance of the offer is via the portal, not replying to an offer email. They maybe forgot to email, but accept on the portal and the wheels will be in motion. I accepted by replying to the offer email, and two weeks later they called me thinking I wasn't interested, because I hadn't accepted on the portal too!

Job status: Active (Accepting Job Submissions)
Application Status Completed - (the date I completed my application)

So I figure this means I'm in the system and just waiting? Is that correct? I'm applying for DEC 787 or 777...

I got a question about QCAA Class1 medical requirements.
I am a big guy with bmi 34. I have no issues with GCAA UAE Class 1 medical right now but would like to know if there is any limit on bmi or restriction with obese people

I have done both and if you had no issues in the UAE, then you won’t in Qatar. It’s the same initial medical if not slightly more lenient in Qatar

The first thing you need to do is dispel any notion that you are held in any kind of regard by the airline. After that, remove any expectation of special treatment because you're a captain coming to do them a favour. This will save you a lot of disappointment during your time there and calibrate your expectations to something nearer a realistic level.

That being said, the economy class shown on your ticket is your onload class and the ticket will likely be upgradeable to business on a space available basis.

After PSA, when shall I expect to get the invitation for the Interview in Doha? PSA was done at the first week of January.

I had my reply exactly 7 working days after cut off date of test (did tests few days before cut of date). I heard some had to wait for 3 weeks. I guess it depends on where you fit in as regards to fleet/function and urgency.

As another poster mentioned above, for pilots with Gulf airlines it's generally Economy upgradable to Business. If there's a seat available in Biz, they'll put you there, if not, you ride in steerage. Not a big deal if you're coming from Europe but if you're coming from Auckland or Santiago it's a long trip. You find out your fate an hour before pushback. The exception is, over at EK captains get Biz class upgradable to First on annual leave tickets and Cat C firm tickets (ID50).
