PS don’t consider coming if you have step children. As they won’t be entitled to many things.

Qatar airways pilots accommodation for the first year
I had applied to become a Qatar airways pilot, but may I know about the housing, is it compulsory to stay at the company housing. I am worried about my fiancé as she is coming with me, do we need to stay at the company housing without any companion? Thanks for answering

SOPS is correct, you won't be able to live with your fiancé in Doha until you get married because you can only be her sponsor if she is your wife, so there's no way she get can a residency permit without being married to you (unless she finds a job of her own and the employer sponsors her).
Regarding company accomodation, yes, they will send to company accomodation initially. As people have said above, they vary from bad to decent/good. You can change accomodation once you are in Doha (it might take a few months) or ask for the housing allowance (which also might take months/years depending on company needs).

Hi everyone,
I am supposed to join QR in the middle of January. Can you tell me how does it look like with accommodation? I would prefer to get allowance rather than company acc. I heard about some guys who got allowance after 1 month from joining. Is it real?

Also do pilots receive per diem pay when on layover? If so, in what amount? I heard that breakfasts in hotels are not included… is it true?
I heard that cabin crew is not so friendly and approachable towards pilots, they write reports etc, is it true?

I’ve been in QR for a few years, never been reported, colleagues likewise but there are always isolated cases. It depends on you, just try and get along, you do your job, they do their’s and it should be fine.

It can be one month (sometimes even less) but it depends on when you join. It changes all the time. I believe at the moment, post-world cup it’s slow. It can also be influenced on whether you’re a Capt or FO.

I have heard it's only company at the moment sadly. Seems so random but with the world cup over there's got to be more availability for the company to strike deals on. It would be great if you were just given the choice of live in or out.
