Happy Days

The music and the 'eye candy' at the mariners club was always stunning. The take-away was pretty good too .

Pop into Dubai Central Prison. Then you'll realise this is no place to holiday or take up employment.

Opticians in Emirates/Dubai Mall. Buy serious dark shades, then view the big buildings under construction and dull the sight of the unprotected slave workers in the 48 heat. Keep them on for your stay, so as to obscure all the other ghastly human abuse sights.

Have fun habibi

Yawnnn. Did you come to the right forum? Isn't The Guardian the spiritual home to this brand of one-eyed woke vitriol?

I don’t think that you need to be particularly woke to recognise human rights being violated in the Dubai sand pit. I do think one’s social conscience needs to be set aside and personally far from a Guardianista but appalled at the poor guys toiling away in the crazy heat of the summer.

Please. I don't think you'll find a person who isn't sympathetic to this. I was making two different points: (1) this isn't the right forum to peddle a wokester agenda, particularly if (2) its badly articulated and based on a overly simplistic and one-eyed view.

If the OP wants proper discourse on a topic that surely warrants it, he better be able to articulate a cogent argument, rather than resort to trite one liners, accompanied by a smug self congratulatory pat on the back for "scoring one" for the liberal luvvies.
