Strange and interesting for a European airline to open a base in the Middle East..?
Definitely for Wizz Air, who’s bases are only in East Europe

I wonder what rights they propose to utilise, it’s a long standing fact that only state related entities can avail of UAE flying rights.

Has anyone heard anything regarding pilot jobs for this? Will they be recruiting directly for the base or will they be transferring from within the airline?

Ok, I heard there were disagreements with the arabia in AD partnership which lead to this deal. I could be wrong but would love insight.

How does that compare to Air Arabia or Etihad A320 T&C for Captains and F/Os? Any figures?

Compared to what? EK is currently on half basic pay. What will become the new standard is yet to be seen. We are in a brave new world ,

Most of us are in half pay in the sandpit. Hopefully this won't become the new standard terms after all of this...

Wow.... I guess you can live in the "Container Villages" where majority of the workers from South-East Asia reside.
And on the plus side you don't need a car. Wizz will offer pick up from certain "pick up points".
If many of you pull together you can probably affect the management decision on where said pick up points will be. Free commuting, a very generous offer indeed!!

Crew transport only between 10pm and 6am, nothing during the day so you will still need a car.

Wizz

Wizzair have just fired 265 guys.... They will probably re-employee them in Abu Dhabi with lower T&C than those mentioned above....
It seems this company is playing dirty games, especially having so much cash in the bank to easily go through this crisis....

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi was declared to be a national airline of the UAE today. Certainly a huge step towards restoring quality aviation in the Gulf after the pandemic.
