Nope, sober but mystified at the weeks long hype over tapping one screen over another. If this I what the 3rd floor thinks we would be excited over...oh dear

I found the weekly update lesson on how to wear a seat belt extremely helpful.

Interesting fellow this TCT. First his obsession with HUDs and IPad's. Now he is hooked on how to sign in. But he did acknowledge he hadn't flown into MEX for some time. He will readying his sage advice for these operations next. He did single handedly fix turbulence encounters, and I believe it was him that worked out that whole “who shot JFK” debacle after all.
Perhaps his position has nothing to do and he needs to make himself busy?

TCT has no experience of flying pretty much anywhere on the EK network, maybe he went to MEX as a passenger, that’s why he knows so much (little).
As for crew pulse check in, will we have to tick a box saying we are complying with the mandatory wearing of the world expo badge !!!

Am I incorrect in thinking that he was a current management A320 Captain with TC-UK when he arrived with EK? An ex-Thomas Cook chap I flew with not long ago said that all their management pilots flew the line consistently. If he stated that he's flown into MEX, and he's from the UK charter industry, I see no reason to doubt that.

Well at least he has taken a break from the constant reminders about how we all should behave whilst down route.

Perhaps the recent encounter one of our habibis had with San Fran law enforcement , might have even pushed hypocrisy past the ever so broad limits for TCT himself.

Or maybe he just ran out of page space.

Edited to say that maybe TCT did a touch and go in a 152 at MEX?

What a childish thing to say. You are supposed to be a professional pilot.
This is now the type of person that with have at EK with the ever declining recruitment standards.

If you are going to make bold assertions about the professionalism of an individual, whom you probably don't know and never met, at least ensure your response is grammatically robust first!

The lucidity of your last sentence is questionable.

Professionalism is all about wearing a pin.... This is the kind of "ideal muppet" that the sandpit needs/wants/deserves...

Good to see that firm grip of the non essential is still alive and well at EK, I’m guessing you are one of those special individuals who inspect your crew for uniform standards and feel naked walking through spinnys without your epaulets on show.
If your narrow view of professionalism was ever to gain traction we’d have a generation of wonderfully groomed aviators unable to land in the touchdown zone or fly a non precision approach without an autopilot....hmmm maybe it’s already too late

Whoa, you learn something new every day. I never realised that wearing a uniform correctly and flying professionally were mutually exclusive? I guess my main concerns would be either;

1) This individual thinks he's above the rules.
2) This individual is incapable of following a basic instruction.
3) This individual is incapable of attaching a simple pin
4) All of above

For what it's worth, I think they look naff. The stickers on the suitcase will last a week before they start peeling off and looking tatty and the bag tags will get damaged and lost.

Either way, is it really that difficult to follow a simple instruction? Does it actually effect your ability to fly? First impressions are also part of professionalism. Leading the team? Setting an example? Does it really need to be spelt out? I would have thought that flying the plane safely was a given. Those other skill sets require effort. If you don't want to make the effort, so be it, but don't expect your team to either. If you're pissed about the 3% (YES, I'm in that camp too) and forced leave, write to the top. Protesting your unhappiness of contractual agreements through refusal to wear a badge is beyond childish. Seriously.

Monarch Man.....still throwing in those grenades I see! You never did tell us which wonderful outfit you joined? Care to enlighten us?

You guys might be looking at this the wrong way. Don't wear the pin, save it in impeccable condition and later, in the two or three years between your retirement and your early death after a career doing 100 night hours long haul a month, when your money's run out because they ripped you off at every turn...… you can put your mint condition "2020 Expo" pin on eBay and pull in enough for a plate of chips and a pint. Money for jam.
Imagine what you could get for your oven mitts if you'd never worn them.
