If you think that QR rosters are better - yes they used to be but those times are over and im not sure if they will ever come back.

Have them apply to and get hired at EK. It won't take very long for them to realize that sitting at home is a safer and healthier option.

Anyone sitting at home now without a job and without at least 2-3 interviews lined up is probably doing something wrong. I actually don’t know of any airline in Europe or ME, bar the unmentionable, that is NOT hiring.
