Blocked for me too. Has been pretty intermittent recently but seems blocked now. Pretty sad if they need to block free speach.

Are any of you in Company Accommodation ( M.S. or M.H.)? Heard the internet was intermittent there today as if the Telecom provider was tweaking blocking the site.... Any comments?

Freedom of speech has been blocked since the blockade, where any mention or show of support for Qatar in social media is outlawed with huge fines and jail time. Blocking Qatari citizens from visiting their families in UAE. We have friends in Dubai whose kids can’t wear their Barcelona football shirts apparently. Also as expat residents of Qatar, we can’t visit them in Dubai. So much for being a bastion of tolerance and western way of thinking/living in the region...

Crew control was blocked a few days ago as well by the looks of things. I sent an ACARS to mission control but it must have hit a firewall somewhere, as I never got a reply.

The company have clearly given scant thought to their actions here. As I am spending more days out of the UAE than in the UAE during August, perhaps their efforts would be better placed if they blocked access at all the crew hotels. Time off in Dubai for many of us is like gold dust nowadays anyway!

The panic appears to be growing on the 7th floor! And if they're not panicking, perhaps they should be.

Blocked

Yes blocked , (etisalat), as well, sad story. Instead of dealing with the cause of the problem, they deal with the results.

Panicking...

Some do. Some don't!

The one I used for 5 years has stopped connecting inUAE only.
Works fine downroute.

I got a new one that works occasionally.

Funny how PPRuNe doesnt load first time around but generally is ok after a couple of refreshes.

Ah, yes, but the wastafarians still need access to see what's being written about them... and to various other (adult) sites too.

Let them take the easy way out, its all they really know. History has shown that route is the surest way to fail. When it comes to being a competitor in the real world with people who have new and fresh ideas, they won't stand a chance.

The demise of EK has already happened, its the timeline to that end which remains open for debate.
