And yet pilots are staying here hoping, praying things get better and we all know it’s only going to get worse.

You can add Silicon to that list, as far as I could tell for lengthy periods yesterday morning and early afternoon there was no connectivity beyond the upstream gateway. Could ping the upstream gateway but no connection beyond that.

To block a website for people who have the biggest exposure to places who do not block it only shows their pitiful shortsightedness. Almost every second day we can access what they would like to hide from the eyes of the outer world who can read these lines unrestricted, unless you are in wonderful places like Iran or North Korea. Did i mention that our shortsighted heroes want to recruit new pilots from that outer world?

Very astute i have to admit …..

Maybe the block is for management rather than pilots, it would make it so much more comfortable to stand with their heads in the sand if they couldn't see what is going on.

I guess they blocked it as soon as the Dubai Drone attack was reported on here, so maybe not so much from management...

They are not called muppets for nothing. Interesting how a corporation can contact telecos to have sites blocked. What next? Sites that advertise competitors?

Rather than stop being vindictive pricks, they put in place an ill thought out way o try and prevent word getting out . Should work.

Seems the PPRuNe stoppage was at Emirates request as was quoted by BT that it was damaging the airline! Also the Drunk Pilots in Mauritius didn't help!
Try Witopia vpn as you can live chat with them and they can "tweak" (BT's comment at a standards meeting when asked about FRMS systems) sorry I digress....
They can help you with the settings to get it working in Dubai!

I have noticed a marked decline in commentary in the last days. Maybe the plan has had some effect. Hopefully folks will come out from the woodwork after a week or so.

BT is behind this, I think he was not comfortable with some of the comments and thought them damaging... probably rightly even if they reflected facts. The point is PPRuNe is not just about EK, far from it, there are many other topics discussed on many different threads.
Surprised the whole site is blocked rather than doing “ an up the road job” and just blocking discussion about EK

Funny...when I joined EK , PPRuNe was only saying good things about the airline. Didn't block it then...

Dear BT and associates, it didn’t work, we are still here posting informative stuff, may the fleas of a thousand camels inhabit the nether regions of the brain donor that thought a ban would silence the dissenting majority.
Good to see you are now going to charge crews money for honest mistakes, I bet you haven’t told that to new joining candidates, was this idea another one of those “punish those lazy overpaid pilots” for being human beings or just more vindictive money grabbing at the behest of some bonus hungry oxygen thief?

85AED will now be charged to pilots who forget their documents and subsequently need crew transport to go back and fetch them.

Wink PPRUNE BLOCKED IN THE SANDPIT

Why block if EK is supposed to be a world class airline, offering rosy rosters, no fatigue and no warning letters. Keep recovering.
