Why would he be?
Got the money, got the title, got the life (hopefully for him) he wanted. Got the chance to be the unpleasant person he is, and be complimented and admired for it.
One day he will go away, close the door and enjoy the rest of his life, or not, not our problem.
While we may soon find ourselves again looking for another stupid "takeoff, rotate, gear up, flaps up ......long hours....., flaps down, gear down, touchdown, hotel room" job around the world under some other tyrant, just because he is not the great manager he thinks he is.

Sort of like Elon and TSLA claiming we will be living on the moon in FY20, but still burning $300 million a quarter and having a myriad of quality control and production issues.

STC is quoted in 2005 that the A380 wonder bus will be operated like a coastal cutter. Crew will work 8 hours on and 8 hours off. This will negate the requirement of layover expenses associated wit the crew.

Yes he did rehash the 'cruise ship' idea not so long ago in some other interview... I remember it being discussed on the bus.

8 on 8 off, lol and where does he think the 'off' crew will be? Certainly not in a CRC of any quality for 8hr 'off' and definitely not in F/J seats....

Out on the wing if he had his way I'm sure....

Ya know, I remember that, and was one of the few who thought- bring it on!

If I could have departed on an aircraft, and arrived back four days later having racked up 60 hours, half of which I was asleep for, I would have thought it great- do that three times every two months and you are even being "productive" by EK definitions, while working 6 days a month!.

I'm dreaming, I know, but then so was STC.

So STC is pretty honest with his math. 8 parked aircraft with a crew factor of 7.5 (or 15 pilots per plane) equal a shortage of about 120 pilots. He wants to plug that hole with the SAA drivers. Of course he isn't interested in hiring hundreds of additional pilots just to make your life easier. He perceives the compliance of rosters with GCAA "rules" as sufficient. Time will tell.
