EK Semnar to Meydan South move announced!

Would like to formally welcome our Semnar pilots to Meydan South as the dreaded letter has arrived!

Enjoy the wonders of our accommodation department!

Or as we prefer to call them, "the department of NO!"

Puff,

To Coin your phase from another thread , "Get real muppets", Go and enjoy the benefits."

Its got AC, light, a kitchen and all the EK people you'd ever want...just like DSO, hell, I think its even closer to work!

I've said it before I'll say it again....It is the company goal that ALL EK PILOTS WILL RESIDE IN MEYDAN HEIGHTS OR MEYDAN SOUTH. There is some talk that even those in Fujan will be shifted.

Take the allowance!!!!! As they are forcing you to move it should be offered as an option.

What a brilliant way to prop up the DXB property market. Shift all the employees of one of the largest employers in the city into substandard accommodation so they are forced to purchase.....and the money goes round and round and round but not into your pocket anymore. Sad days indeed.

I'd be surprised if there were not land lords in Dubai who would be quite happy to retain EK employees on reasonable private terms. If taking an allowance is an option I'd be chatting to my landlord quite soon, or any other land lord you hear of who is willing to negotiate. A well behaved and clean bird in the hand is better than two in the bush.

It definitely is an option - i know a few people who were given notice to move. All took the allowance and rented directly from the landlord. Failing that, there are plenty of villas for sale in the 1.5-2m range.

As they are forcing you to move it should be offered as an option.

You mean like when they booted everyone from the SZR buildings, said the allowance was an option, then a few days later when crew went with contracts in hand were told NO....

A ****ty but not surprising move from (best name ever) the Department of No.

Hope they do better for the DSO people. I weep for all the lovingly tended gardens and backyards that will have to go back to bare sand What a fkn waste

I have heard that the guys who did that from the DIC (Arenco) Villas in Al Sufouh got shafted by the landlord (Arenco) after the first year of reasonable rent!

You think that a privately bought villa is really built any better than anything the company puts us into???
Maybe I lucked out but my villa in MS has been fine; only need to get the AC topped up from time to time - everything else has been grand!

Yes, that's exactly what I mean. My allowance will be paid today as well.

In addition to the three options given in the email, there is always the fourth option.

I wonder how many might be seriously considering it.

That is not true that the guys who did that from the DIC (Arenco) Villas in Al Sufouh got shafted by the landlord (Arenco) after the first year of reasonable rent! . White Knight it is clear you don't know the rental cap that is a law in Dubai. So, write down only what you are really sure. What you heard, especially if the reality is the opposite of what you heard, does not bring anything here.

I wonder how many will take the 4th option......

None. Most pilots think EK is grand no matter what the company does to us. Especially the new hires.

LHR,

Easy to say!

However the reality is that as the experience leaves and those new hires find themselves in command of a 380 with 500 people when they probably werent 100 per cent ready... well the CP of the 380 despite his inability to discern what is right, stated publicly that hiring inexperienced pilots is statistically right....I'll wait in anticipation as he will certainly remove himself from the role when reality proves him wrong?
