Qatar Airways News

Please refer to my postings in the Pilots and Cabin Crew sections of the forum.

In summary - for those interested:-

A7-ACB, the 2nd A330 due to join the fleet at the end of July, will perform aerial and static display at the Franborough Air Show, UK, between 22nd and 26th July.

"Airways" - the monthly industry magazine, will be running an in-depth article on all aspects of Qatar Airways in its next issue. On sale UK 8th August 2002. I would recommend that anyone considering joining QR may wish to have a read at this article, just to get a "feel" for what it's all about.

Before the sceptics wade-in, I know that these articles are sometimes watered down, but lets have a look anyway!

Hello A300Man,

Just to add to your post. The A330-200 will be handed over to Qatar Airways on July 19th and as you said will go directly to Farnborough for the air display. The A319CJ will also participate in a static display. Apparently this is under the request of Airbus.

A7-ACB will enter service on August 1st on the DOH-LHR route. It will fly to LHR 4 days a week and fly to Casablanca the remaining 3.

And about the article, "Airliner World" will also publish an article on Qatar Airways later on in the Year. The swiss Magazine "Jetstream" will have an article on Qatar Airways in there next Issue also. There was also a recent article on Qatar Airways published in Flug Revue. Here is part of the article: http://www.flug-revue.rotor.com/FRHe...06/FR0206e.htm

Flug Review

MT Qatar,

Read the review with great interest. Very nice article, and also very descriptive. I almost felt that I was at Doha airport.

By the way, I have been unable to make contact with QR as per your recent e-mail. Could you perhaps advise of the current status by return e-mail.

Thanks

A300Man

This is getting tedious

Perhaps you two could start your own Qatar Airways Propaganda Forum?

This is getting tedious

Or maybe your own Qatar Airways Bashing Forum. So its OK for people to bash Qatar Airways but it is not to show the other side of the story?

If you do a search you will find 4 or 5 people who keep bashing Qatar Airways on and on and on. Hundreds and Hundreds of posts by the way. And now a few posts which share some news about Qatar Airways, or a few posts that try to show people that even though QR is not perfect you can still have an enjoyable career with them seem to get tedious to you?

Regards,
A very MTQatar

I can't comment either way on who is right or wrong in this debate. I’m ready to be told I’m completely wrong, but I can’t help but think that this thread proves very clearly a point claimed on Pprune’s Home Page – ‘the most read site by airline management’ (or words to that effect).

It would seem that Qatar’s management have recognized the damage a ‘bad press’ can do to the airline (or its recruitment plans) on Pprune and have set their PR Department to work in minimizing the damage.

Now why can’t I get a job where my boss pays me to troll the Net during working hours?

Wiley,

Neither I nor A300Man work for QR, and I can't say this enough. If you look back at the archives I have been accused of working for QR several times, and so has A300Man but these accusation are false.

And now I am going to ask one of my rhetorical questions. So if the QR Bashers speak they are instaniously labeled legitamite and truthfull but when we speak positivly or just even convey some news about QR we are automatically insulted, called an instrument of propaganda of QR, or even telling lies?

But they have worked or claimed to have worked for QR, you on the other hand state that you don’t work there. So how do we know that you are not some 13 year old bored out of his skull in DOH.

You raise a good point Mutt. And I don't blame you. The internet is an anynomous communication platform, and so it is easy to assume a certain identity or character online.

I don't work for Qatar Airways but not some people working there. All the way from the Flight Deck Crew to the 9th Floor. I also know people working at the airport, CAA, government and even some of QR's suppliers. That is where I base my information from. Whether you choose to trust me, it is up to you.

I am Qatari, and as my pledge of allegiance says: I pledge my allegiance to God, My country [Qatar] and the Amir. That could make me biased towards Qatar Airways [Flag Carrier] at some times, but also these disgruntled ex-employees will sure be biased. You tell me if you are fired will you say "I messed up" or will you blame other people, of course you'll blame other people.

Any way enough of me hijacking A300Man's thread, which is about news by the way and not about the validity of my or someone elses statements.

Rgds,
MTQ

COOL IT EVERYONE

Hey guys........whoah.

This is all getting too silly. The forum is a public platform in which people can share news and gossip (for want of a better word), as well as express opinions.

Right, we're all doing that, but to suggest that some of us are bieng paid to scroll through the www and to post to boost the airlines image is nothing short of an insane suggestion.

Again, like MT Qatar, I re-iterate, for the 5th time on this forum, that I do NOT work for Qatar Airways. I DO have some pride in the company through previous distant involvement, and i DO want the company to be a success.

That can only be a good thing for all of us in the industry. We may all benefit in some way.

I would also ask that u refer to my early posting son this site, where I was less than complimentary about the company.

Dr. Hibbert - your suggestion is ludicrous, but you (all) are entitled to your opinions.)

Please guys - a little bit more trust. Do any of you, or have any of you, worked for QR either?
