so sad, if your not holding one of the "elite" passports you won't be selected. "apply only if you have the right to live and work in EUR"...

I don't quite understand your argument.

It's not really a surprise, is it? The same restriction goes for the USA/Canada etc !

The fact that a low cost carrier with lower salaries etc is coming to Dubai to recruit pilots from EK (and fly Dubai I suppose) is something that used to be unheard of. Years ago it didn't happen, ever! The "if you don't like it leave" mentality of management has come back to bite them.

Wizz must think pilots will join them and this is a sad reflection on EK. The massive loss of moral at EK, the decreasing work conditions and more worryingly the lack of anything being done to stop the loss of experienced pilots continues to be astonishing.

Sad !

And I see lots of adverts for EK - "time to soar"(spend lots of time I'm air not on the ground!), "experience Dubai"(not there much always flying), "time to live" (away from home) etc etc you'll get the drift once you're here!
There have been a few carriers come to the UAE looking to fill their ranks. There is about 8000 pilots in the immediate area so the fishing is pretty good! When you add all the ways that these UAE company's are demotivating, angering, disciplining etc. their staff its really a no brainer! Its all down to one individual...welcome to 1500's mindset on dealing with staff. Its not even sad anymore, its like watching a train wreck in progress and it's already too late to fix it - the rot is now in the ranks and it spreads fast. There is no accountability, that can only be present in a person with a degree of ethics.

In the meantime, Jet2, Wizz, Norwegian, Korean, the Chinese, USA carriers etc. need pilots. They'll keep up the shoddy treatment and bad rosters anyway so it helps bring these carriers to town with better and better deals.

And I believe they are going to Vietnam again!!! and other countries too...

so either the last time worked nicely (which by your info is not true)
or they desperately are in need of pilots, but my point is, you just don't throw thousands of euros if the last time didn't work out.

Or, they have just no idea what are they doing.... (my bet is here)

It worked good last time in Vietnam and already 2 times in Dubai and they are desperate. They don't aim to employ F/Os. Their target are experienced F/Os, which will be offered DEC. The terms are really shitty, but for the left seat, they will have enough interested guys probably. After 500h PIC all those guys will leave

Kimono they got about 15 guys from Vietnam last time, most of the senior VNA A330 FOs went there for a start, plus a number of A320 captains from VNA and VJ. Wizz are coming back again to Vietnam in a few weeks, as you know, they were very happy with the result of their last fishing trip.

I am sorry, but your informations are wrong. Just a couple of guys left and are thinking leaving the wonderful Wizz. A lot of went to some carriers in Asia , like H-K Airlines or JSP.
Wizz is coming back to try to convince the few guys who didn't t show up last time.

I tell you, not even the P2F in VNA ( and in VJ ) want to go to Wizz.

I'm not at Wizz Air however my airline as seen a bit of success with their recruitment campaigns in the desert. Must say, I enjoy flying with ex EK & EY operators. Very capable FOs, command or very close to command ready plus walking & talking confirmation of why people should avoid the sandpit. The more the merrier.

Dear Callsign Kilo, please bear in mind that very often this "very capable FOs close to command" for some reason didn't make it there. Their in command in that sandpit. Now try filter those stories and ask them why...

N77 ive met quite a few fo's who left ek months before they were eligible for command. Dont assume anything, these were good guys/ operators, and just tired of the middle eastern way of doing things.

Are you really that shallow thinking guys joining other airlines are guys who failed at their previous ones? Maybe a few but defenitely not all.

💪🏻
