Hi

Just heard Emirates is planning to open a Paris base.
Rumour or fact ?

I nearly chocked laughing!

Not a hope; why should EK open a base in Paris when they will not consider stations they visit far more frequently?

In answer to your question - 'Rumour.'

Today is Valentine's Day- you need to wait until April Fool's Day for rumours like that.

Like Gehenna, I now have coffee all over my keyboard.

(Cough)
Can someone tell me how to get the individual keys off my keyboard? I have held it up side down for about 5 minutes now to let all the coffee drip out.
I now need to clean the insides.

Depends where you 'heard' it from, man down the pub or an official Emirates press release.

You now have your answer.

Keyboards can actually be put into the dish washing machine, you just need to leave them to dry a while afterwards.
Mine is due now...

Wouldn't it make more sense for EK to open a functional and efficient base in in DXB first?

True ofcourse, and AR is going to run it. The only way to get rid of this individual. They dont expect the base to fill up soon...

I dread April 1st for fear of what base EK might have up their sleeve.

I'd love to see EK management struggling with the french labour law

You got to it first. We used to have a French based part of my previous company and it was unproductive, so we decided to get rid of it. That was when we found out how unproductive and expensive it is to do business in France. I was always amazed they based such a large portion of Airbus there !

Mr Mac

Maybe because Airbus was born in France as Sud Aviation and also because the weather in the UK is shiiiiiitee.
No? Would it be Zeeeee reason ?

It's not the french labour laws which killing the buisness, it's the unions, which are taking advantage of the laws! it's completly different.
With unions respecting the laws it would be a total different economic story.
Ok maybe we are too lazy as well.... but not as lazy as the italians are

Leave the Italians alone. They make great motorbikes, clothes, food and err, that's it.
