Four sector days

Anyone else have a double turn around in Feb? Just wondering how many there are now.

At least it frees up an extra day off, or means we aren't so restricted now and can do more hours....

Feb rosters seem suspiciously light, anyone know how many cancelled flights there are?

Surely 4 sectors days are verging on the limits of duty?

Even operating around the Gulf, 1 hour sectors, 90 minutes turn arounds its pushing it?

Double DOH or KWI and a DOH were not uncommon 15 years ago so not such a new idea...

if we are scheduled to fly them between say 0800 and 2200 fair enough, however if they think we can do them at odd hours on top of 100 hours a month I think there would be a problem

Four sector days pop up every now and again as somebody with an MBA (but no CPL) decides the lazy pilots aren't working hard enough.

After a while it becomes obvious that you can't turn a 330 (then) or 777 (now) around as quickly as a 737, especially if you have an aircraft change to the other end of the airport in the middle- which is often what used to happen.

Throw in a few late connections to wait for and crew start going out of duty hours. Then the idea is quietly shelved until the next wizzkid comes along.

Even a 737 in this region needs a minimum of 1hr. And even then...
Across the road it's not any different. 12hr double sector night shifts on top of 85-100hrs a month.

On the bus, this rotation often included a 330 followed by a 345 for sectors 3-4, sry to say it's a case of "get on with it" by the company.

But jack it was have a coffee and duty free booze shop in the terminal when waiting for the new aircraft to arrive. We were not doing over 90hrs a month then though.

I was rostered 4 sectors once about 12 years ago but miraculously we had 30 min delay and we were not legal to do the last 2 sectors, got a call from scheduling and from the fleet manager while in the cockpit, they offered me to change my roster if I would go into discretion, unfortunately I couldn't at home base.
