Just chatted to my buddy who was at the AAR meeting today.

In short, it was a waste of time.

AAR didn't know what the pilots were talking about most of the time regarding demotions, 2 tier pay scales, commuting, and rostering abuse.

He just LIES as these are HIS policies that were implemented after the last group he met.
He basically treated the group with contempt.

It was frustrating in the extreme.

His secretary politely takes notes which will get binned after the meeting. What a farce.

It confirms what we know.

The upper management have lost touch with reality and are micromanaging things below them that the have NO KNOWLEDGE ABOUT.
The implications of their irrational decisions have not been thought through, and they are having devastating consequences.

AAR pleads ignorance to all the points brought up but can anyone be that dumb??

Don't answer that.🙄

In the process of all these decisions they are destroying careers, so folk are leaving in droves.

But the good news is AAR is not worried about pilots leaving as we have too many pilots anyway so EK has no staff problem on that front.

Really???

Does he think we are that stupid??

Other good news is no one in the company will have more than 85 hours next month !!!????

What he says defies belief but clearly displays how out of touch he is with his own company.

I would posit after this meeting of 38 pilots many who attended the meeting were so disgusted they will leave as they were so appalled at AAR’s complete ignorance of the business he is supposed to manage. It is shocking how little he knows.

A totally unproductive day and a waste of a white shirt is how it was put by our colleagues

AAR finished by saying that as there are no unions the management know that the staff are their most important asset.

He must have read that online somewhere but he certainly doesn't believe it or put it into practice.

Its just a box ticking exercise for him to get brownie points from above.

I now truly believe its too late for even Chopper Meuller to intervene.

Game over.........

I was there and I have to say that was not a waste of time in my perception. He accepted confrontation on different opinion, he was quiete aware of all the policy regarding fleet transfer and new joiners requirements. He accepted suggestion and he put some ideas. He took some commitments with us and time will tell. I personally disagree with some of his opinion but I have to recognize that he his trying to establish a direct contact with us.
He invite us again to write to him.

Some years ago I attended an EK Training Captains workshop to do with grading.

In the course of the day we were shown a number of videos of crew managing abnormal events and told to grade them from 1 to 5, 1 being very bad and 5 being very good.

One of the videos was of a simulated rejected take off (the Captain in the film was GN now with EY). It was not managed well and 7 of the 8 TREs present graded it 1 or 2, but one TRE from North Africa graded it 5.

Which just goes to show how several people in a room can perceive what is going on very differently.

With all respect for you and the North African your example is not relevant:
First because of the proportion I was there with colleagues I know and we all had similar perception ( the fact that I am the onlyone writing here does not mean I am the only one with that perception ).
Second because I am not North African

Callone.

Please be kind enough to answer my question above?

I am happy if you have a different take from my friend who was there. But, please share your thoughts?

Thanks

I'm guessing you don't get the irony in that sentence.

My buddy confirmed Callone's message. Overall it was a good meeting. He was aware of some colleagues command issues, roster issues etc. There were improvements since his last meeting. Now what has Enry done since his appointment? Enlighten me. Back to my🍺

PMASHA -

only 9 posts, the first ones were pro the first AAR meeting. Last post back in May to defend the roster compression of rosters (remember - swapping is a privilege) and now after 6 months the next post is again pro meeting. Hmmmmmmm ??

Did AAR actually say this? No one will have more than 85 hours next month?

PMASHA and CALLONE migh oh migh have you boys been busy. I know and implicitly trust my source. Were you really at the meeting and if so, there is really no need to send me a PM asking what I would like to know.

I'll ask here:

1. Are you guys Costa Dwellers.

2. If not do you work in the Bouncy Castle.

3. If not do you work in EGHQ.

4. What do you think of A and what he has done to the pilot populace. What has he done for safety?

No need for a pm. Just tell us. EK have screwed so many good people. The lies, the cheating are legendary in the industry.

People who apply must be able to see the good and the bad. There is now a huge amount of bad. Experienced guys are leaving in droves. I never used to check who was flying my family up until about 3 years ago. Now, I think all of my colleagues who stayed do.

The pathetic attempt of the Costa Dwellers to mask the truth will end at 1500 on Thursday ....

I am sending you my name and contacts so you can call me. I am not going to post on pprune a full report of a meeting at the 9th floor.
