Calling all EK 330/340 skippers
Hello Chaps, ( donīt think there are any ladies left)
If you are one of the affected, number varies between 40-45, I urge you to write to your CP Airbus or even better book an appointment and express your concerns about the way things are going.
I have done the same, seems the CP is surprised at my concerns.
It appears they were not expecting any reaction from us. I suppose if you get shafted long enough, you get used to it.

Well I've written to him, along with the Fleet CP, and his Deputy. And guess what, no reply!
I am 150hrs short and totally lost for words, never have I been treated like this by anyone in my whole career.
3 months of forced leave and reserve in 2014 during the runway closures, 20 hours flying in the last 3 months, and not to mention lack of earnings.
I will never give up my command that I have worked hard to get for anyone!
We all need to stand together!

Recruiting is hurting and attrition is high. Best thing you can do is add the the total leaving. I'm disgusted at the company for this but rest assured nothing will happen. I hope I'm wrong .
short flights long nights
Do they sit on the third floor in a bubble? ( I think I just answered my own question). You down grade highly experienced people and think that that is acceptable, and ' we will carry on as normal.' ? It's far from correct, very very very far from correct. And what is this ' captain upgrade board ' or whatever it's called. These people have already done their command, passed, and have been flying into some of the worst airports in the world! And they need to go through another upgrade course? Give me strength.
I am truely sorry for all ex colleagues that are affected by this.

SOPS, not only that but fleet is now looking for volunteers (A330/340 crews) to work on an A380 training project. No, I'm not joking, you couldn't make this up.
Also as a proper transition couldn't be worked out at all, everyone to sit reserve and forced leave in between additional PPCs to be scheduled in order to keep everyone current to CCQ them as there will be no more flying past October.
It would be funny if not tragic....

Electricdeathjet: Check your PM.
Miche 767: You hit the nail on itīs head. It would be funny if it was not so tragic.
Do you fellas remember Comical Ali ? Me thinks he is at work somewhere in the Bouncy Castle. The CP sure sounded like he had been given coaching before our little chat.
First: Deny
Secondly: Empathise
Thirdly : Scare
Wikipedia search for Comical Ali
(On November 7, 2014, Swedish newspaper Expressen posted a video of an ill Al-Sahhaf in a hospital bed in the United Arab Emirates, claiming that he was dying)

..I think not many options left:
- try to negotiate to get a discount of the penalty ,or of the hours missing;
-resign
-accept
mark my words: no one gives a s**t except those affected...

Actually, that's not correct. I'm not affected, however I DO give a sh1t. It sucks, bigtime. And as someone who was adversely affected by the 'you cant go to the 777 and get a command, but everyone who joined 18 moths after you on the 777 is getting a command' policy, I feel your pain. It annoys me, a lot.
But, what can we do? People are too tired/ worn out/ planning to leave/ scared etc. to do anything meaningful. Yes, many don't care, but a lot of us do... I'll leave it at that.

Better yet
We Definitely need the skill of a psychiatrist, one who prescribes properly, to fend off clinical depression from working at EK.
Better yet, just place Prozac in the water supply, at the Marina, and Business Bay specifically.
Sorry folks...

If I was affected, I would be bringing a resignation letter with me. Short of withdrawing this stupid plan, there wouldn't be much they could say that would satisfy me. Anything else requires trust; something in very short supply here.
I hope I am proven wrong and it is a positive, productive meeting.

Realizing y'all be busy with the Airbus stuff.
If you get a chance, before you hand in your letters, can you ask what happened to the seniority list and the monthly Fleet Forums and overall lack of professional respect of ending both without any comms.
Tis but a tip of the iceberg ...indeed

When did this letter come out? I have sent 8 emails to fleet and flight ops and not heard a sausage. What is going on in this company? Why do I have to find out on here that there is a meeting?
I'm wondering has Emirates ever offered a redundancy package before? I could quite happily take one if it good enough, there are quite a few jobs out there!
What a cluster fudge up!
