SO-

Pilots follow SOPs and achieve safe outcome.

Muppets on the internet play Monday-morning quarter-back.

Makes you weep.......

The Captain was not an Astronaut

This Cockpit Crew being warned by the RAAS was the "very best combination" EK has to offer.
One TRI in the left seat and in the other seat a TRI as well :-))

Airmanship unfortunately scores zero in the GRADINGS of the EK Training and Check Forms. Its not important to EK.Unfortunately.
Robots are the Heros running the top shows in EK. No thinkers are very welcome......!

On the Check-Forms of this MAN flight with a diversion to LHR the two TRIs scored only 5s, no doubt about it!
Great decision in the name of Safety. Safety ??????? Many others on the same fleet just call it Stupidity!

... that would have been the perfect occasion to use the shower on this wonderful piece of mechanic, most passengers might have smelled better after this flight!

Utterly ridiculous.

(please refrain from telling me off to await the "inquiry", or that i was not on the flight, blah, blah, blah.
If you still insist, please reset your common sense centre.)

What's this got to do with meeting AAR? Did he ask the crew in for tea and Bikkies?

You have to remember every thread on ME has to turn into an EK bashing thread. Just wait and watch the "watch repair " thread.

If the AH article is an accurate account of what happened, something doesn't quite add up. As Don rightly says, the overrun warning system only arms below 500' (300' when using BTV). So if they were going around for a "RUNWAY TOO SHORT" warning, this would have happened well below 1300'MSL. Should be interesting to read the ASRs. Hopefully this will be an event we can all learn from. That is IF everyone can get their heads out of their arses and stop Monday-morning-quarterbacking and telling us all how much better they would have handled said scenario!!

Yip, so true! Any thread or reply that is not seen as sufficiently critical of EK is immediately trashed.

Those who really felt strongly about the life style in the UAE have pulled up roots and left. I suggest the same to those that cannot manage the life style......

Oh cry us all a river. There IS a slight chance that the reason most comments about things these days at EK are overwhelmingly negative is because... most things there are overwhelmingly negative. It's not exactly a secret anymore.

But hey thank god there are a few folks around to help everyone find balance, hey? Poor, poor maligned EK...

Anyway, whatever transpired at this meeting with AAR? Did it even take place?

No limit, you must not be at EK or else you would know the meeting took place.

No limit has a very good point fatty. What is it, 8 days? Since it happened and no feed back at all? Freaking weird if you ask me.

Didn't HD reference that meeting in his "you are going to get your leave" letter?

So I spoke with a long time, and very trusted friend who was invited to the meeting. Seems that the initial stories I heard were off just a tad.

So I must apologize for my previous post. No need to delete, as I don't mind eating some crow when I am wrong.

Anyway, we did not have time to talk to much about it as we were otherwise engaged with more pressing items. I will try and get some more info if I can.

The news out of the meeting was that AAR said 12 weeks Bonus because profits are so high. At least we get something for all of our hard work and no leave.
