Not only in his company. There was that recent and famous response by the flight safety team of a company a bit further south, when a skipper raised concern about flying over the Sinai region. He said that it's nice to be reminded to fly above FL 250, but what about maintaining this when you have a engine failure with a heavy twin?
The response was: What are the chances that you lose an engine right over that region!!!

Why on earth do we even bother making TO calculations, because what are the chances we lose a donkey on TO roll???

in fact their termination is basically assured when the investigation is done.
