Emirates F/O requirements have changed !
From the Emirates careers website
Qualifications & Experience
Requirements for the Position of First Officer A330, B777
A minimum of 2000 hours, multi-crew, multi-engine, commercial jet aircraft
Experience on Boeing or Airbus glass cockpit aircraft will be preferred
We do not accept P3 and simulator time for flying hour’s calculation.
Requirements for the Position of First Officer A380
2500 hours multi-crew, multi-engine jet aircraft with a MTOW 50+ tonnes. You must have at least 1500 hours on a modern fly-by-wire Airbus aircraft and be current on it.
We do not accept P3 and simulator time for flying hour’s calculation
Additional requirements for all pilots
· Full ICAO ATPL
· Unrestricted Class 1 Medical
· English language fluency (written and verbal comprehension); ICAO English level (4 or above)
· Must be current within 12 months of joining
· Experience must be commensurate with age
· Type rating would be advantageous
Good luck !

Desperate times!! Despite all the promises of recruitment being fine and loads of applicants, this clearly proves that's not the case. more lies from the idiot management
short flights long nights
I would say less than nil.

A primary reason for the change
Not a rumor nor heard it from my maid
The new requirements are aimed to attract certain applicants from certain airlines .. It benefits both EK And those airlines
To simplify it : Air Arabia - with a massive MPL program has reached a peak in training capability for the new comers
With massive numbers of highly trained FOs with excess of 1500 hours ( salary changes dramatically as you gain hours with the airlines) it was only smart to collaborate with EK
Many other low cost have tuned to the same method with EK / Unmentioned / QR

Oh NO
It's not surprising EK have to lower the hour minimums to attract pilots to EK given the recruitment competition of the other big ME carriers, the arrogant management stance of if you don't like it......leave and the total denial that there is a worldwide pilot shortage.
Less hours in a log book may not mean a lesser pilot in skills, but there usually are vetting processes along the long climb up the aviation career ladder!!
I wonder how long it will be before I fly with an early twenty something, ex Euro LCC, only to wake up from some much required inflight rest to discover them playing some rubbish game on their Ipad...........again!!!!
