Sir Tim kicks crew transport arse...
It seems Sir Tim spent some time the other day at the arrivals level observing the disaster which is the daily event of trying to get a car to take you home.
Evidently he had asked the ESVP-CCC-ED (Executive Senior Vice President- Crew Car Coordinator-Exterior Division or just "Outside guy with the clipboard" why there was a sea of cars but no drivers. The ESVP-CCC-ED without knowing it was STC, told this "random man" that he was "too busy to answer questions now" (despite having no drivers to coordinate)....We won't be seeing him around any more!
Interestingly, the car service has been fantastic the past few days!
If you are going to tell your boss to "shove off", it's probably a good idea to have another job lined up!
NOW....if we can just get him to visit the leave planners and schedulers.

Well there's a turn up for the books....this is the first time in many years I've heard a story about the boss taking a personal interest in what's happening on the coal face.
If it's true, it might be a step forward. Getting out there and actually talking to a worker, be it pilot, a grade two, a driver or a cargo loader, would certainly help a senior manager understand what the real issues are...because it's quite clear middle management hide the real story from our bosses.
It'll be interesting to see if any real changes occur, or, as is more likely, a few temporary band aids will be applied by the mid level managers to save face.

When you have individuals more concerned with arse covering, job protection and of course enforcing their own particular caste system, change will be difficult to implement. It was the usual cluster fcuk earlier today.

Has anyone else experienced the inconsiderate street like attitude by the so called Elite professionals?
Those Pilots who pay no attention to the ones in the queue waiting for their turn to pick a coupon at peak times but rather jump ahead of others from the sides pretending as not being seen.
Happened to a friend of a friend a few times!

It was pretty awful getting a car this morning. Also sceptical of this story (especially as no improvement). Same co-ordinator outside being dismissive of pilots who had been patiently waiting inside.

Is this the same Sir who gets on the aircraft, sits down, closes his privacy screen and then immediately exits after landing without a word to any of the crew? That guy was looking in to a lack of drivers during the 0600 rush hour? Right......

If getting a car / crew transport is as difficult , uncoordinated and haphazard as has been implied , then it simply shows just how out of touch " Sir Tim " really is , and that further mismanagement in any component part of EK can only be assumed and expected. These people surround themselves with " cling-ons " that tell them how great they are , how sound their decisions are and in effect shield them from the reality of " facts on the ground " as it were. Keep it up " Sir Tim " , your inability to manage is slowly becoming obvious to all.
short flights long nights
Or a roster that does not involve 92 hours every month.

There may be some truth in it. F/O I just flew with had operated with a Captain who'd had the pleasure of STC on his flight. 40 minutes chatting about many issues, most of which our boss was unaware of.
If true, the filtering process at DSVP level has been mightily effective. I guess time will tell.

Sir Tim
We all know how Sir Tim is a very busy man these days, for me as a SLF.
I would have thought he would have read this site every once in a while, just to keep his finger on the pulse, so to speak.
Even if only for a couple of times or maybe 10 minutes per day.

It came from one of the people working the transport desk, I heard the same rumor and just asked them.
