Swansafa,

Five (presumably drunken) posts all with drivel about nothing...accompanied with the anti 'Great Satan' innuendo...the local editorials are working a charm on you

But the funniest part is a Safa taking a high and mighty stance against the US.

lol ..you want to talk about a **** show ..

You can walk the streets of NY every night of the week.

Josie?

Back to your bottle.

Have just done a flight across the Himalayas. The number of options available for diversion is really mind numbing considering the current political situation in Pakistan and not to mention in Afghanistan. This is besides the point that you still have the DARD consideration swirling in your brain. God forbid one has to execute "Land at nearest suitable airport" diversion inside this area.

Yesterday (with FZ) at FL360, I flew up the entire length of the river Tigris, albeit mostly along the eastern flank of the river (UL602 & UM860 then crossing into Turkish airspace at waypoint KABAN) which was the route as filed by the company... and there were numerous other UAE / GCC airlines utilising that exact same routing too... and, needless to say, a number of the passengers were far from happy about it, but what to do ?!

Although we are not allowed to post using our airline everything mentioned on the EK forums apply to the other airline...Personally I think we are going though a very dangerous period in this region. This could very easily happen again. Gulf Air Flight 771 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Many thoughts that GF771 was taken out by a ground-to-air missile inadvertently fired by the UAE armed forces playing with a new missile system. Pertinent as a precursor to recent events.

PEW back on the menu quietly ... A mere six weeks after a PIA Airbus was attacked on finals, one dead others injured and two weeks after TC said it had been suspended.

Prudent? Not sure things have dramatically changed there since.

Tut tut
