when this backdated pay rise is finally announced, can we all backdate our resignation letters to May1st?
Bananas x2, as a DEC who joined 18 months ago what are you whining about? You had no excuse for not knowing what they're like because everyone was talking about it but you joined anyway. That was when they were desperate enough to start with DECs again but not desperate to do anything about the conditions.
A bit early for you to be telling us all how bad it is, Sunshine.

I am very surprised that some are making a fuss that the company have not informed us personally about the cancellation of the A350 order.
When does the EK propaganda machine ever produce news that is negative in any shape or form?

Thanks for your carefully considered post there hamfan
I am ambivalent so far. EK is pretty much what I expected it to be so please dont quote a genuine question and misinterpret it as an opinion. The two are very different. Sunshine
The only thing so far that I find really disappointing is the small minority amongst us who, it appears, would rather pick a fight with their colleagues than contribute constructively to dialogue. But it is a small minority. No doubt they feel they have their reasons.
Shall we get back on thread.
I think it will be a total of 8 per cen on basic with a substantially higher increase in housing, education and meals allowances. Hourly flying rate to also increase by circa 8 per cent.

Bananas x2, that was a genuine question was it and not a statement of your defiance?
Ri-iiiiiiight, whatever.
If you expected this sort of thing but came anyway and now want to resign in record time, it appears your judgement and decision-making skills are questionable.
That you think meal allowances will soon be "substantially higher" shows how little background you have, let alone the rest of your daydream! This is not "picking a fight", this is pointing out that you may want to watch and listen for a while rather than tell everyone how it is now or will be soon.

Heard that we will get the step. No payrise percentage increase. Removal of flight pay. 10k for Captains and 6k for FOs but 1000 hr increase which will be implemented and has been approved by the GCAA.
When will we hear? After the runway reopens.
Keep Discovering....

HamFan,
Think, RTFQ, Consider, Reply
Where did I say I was going to resign? I asked a question. I did not make a statement. I sense a little bit of DEC hostility here. I thought we were all on the same team. Consider yourself on my ignore list.

No flight pay? That's a big game changer!
That would mean that the 25 or 30 hours of Deadheading I get per month with the freighter parings towards the 92 hours would now mean nothing? 8 days off a month will be the norm every months with 90 hours of flying and 20+ hours of dhd.
10k aed increase to a 25-year captain would also be a much lower percentage than for a new upgrade...

777boy,
I heard that rumour too but I would be surprised if they went for it. Too much temptation for one or two people to 'push 2' without any financial penalty.
But, you never know.

Nice backdown, Bananas, You asked about submitting your resignation letter upon receipt of the pay review you expect to see, this states an implied intent. Maybe your English comprehension is in question along with your judgement etc.
But of course it's just you gobbing off as I sincerely doubt you will resign despite your bluster. When you do resign, will you come back and post the notice here to prove me wrong? I thought not.
Don't flatter yourself, I've been here long enough not to give a rat's about DECs. I called a spade a spade and find your know-it-all position on everything after 18 months ignorant and laughable and thought your nose could be rubbed in it given how far off in cloud cuckoo land your pay rise concept is.
Consider it rubbed.
PS: I knew you would sneak back and read this.....
PPS: I hope we DO get what you believe we're going to get. I will buy the beer if we do.

If you didn't manage to catch it in the avalanche of emails being sent out, there was an Open House question about review of the allowances. It was answered something like " We are doing the review and will present it to HH in June". Standard answer to that question is usually "We cannot comment on any changes".
Guess it makes sense to present it all in one go, well what do I know...

I suppose it shows how much we are worth to the company by the attitude of the SVP Finance, who whilst on a flight recently, in the front galley, proclaimed to the purser and other gathered cabin crew that pilots are overpaid!
Nice to hear how much we mean to them, and that undermining the flight crews position with respect to the cabin crew is not a problem! Maybe he should attend a CRM day or two!
