THY NOW ACCEPTING FAA AND ICAO LIC

It was just matter of time but corporate just approved to accept aircrews with FAA OR ICAO licences.
Although slow, the wheels of changes are still turning.

If you trust any organization from this part of the planet, you need your head examined.

yabanci..:
i usually dont waste my time on people who are not objective within any professional environment.
at first i was amused at your posts (majority of which are anti-turkish, islamaphobic and on the boarder of down right racist but i truly feel sorry for you... now seriously it must be difficult to accept the realities of life and ponder on a had been in your life and not being able to let it go. I must be even more difficult knowing you have a condition tearing yourself up knowing the fact that if there wasnt a THY you would be so useless in this world (both cyber and real life) and you justify your existence by making remarks based on figures with would make s*it pit look like a seafood platter at a 5 star restaurant.

you and your posse ( 3-4 nicks here .. wouldnt be surprised if they were all you) have contributed nothing but slander slurs that insult a group and paved way for more animosity to be displayed rather that help the integration process...

give something objective based on facts and not science fiction stories you hear on media .... i think everyone here knows how accurate media or your racially biased views are..which you literally go out of your way to repeatedly demean a population or ethnic group.

As for you facts about legal action... well if you get your head out of your anal cavity ( which i personally believe is so far up the shaft its actually seated back on your shoulders again having completed the loop), it wasn't Turkish Airlines that changed the DGCA law that prohibited FAA and ICAO licences. This was done on the dgca part to harmonize integration to EASA standards .. where in god al mighty is this any advantage to THY in this ??? you think any expanding carrier would shoot them selves like this...
if what you say is true then the issue would be between the PILOTS and DGCA.....

and before you an your posse start another barrage of crap please review your history of posts ... i know i have taken the time and not once have you ever mentioned anything positive or objective based on facts.... your whole existence is based pissing on something else to justify your own insecurities..

btw
THY a Government company
if you had any sense of real facts you would of know its is a company listed on the exchange with THY ownership at 50-51 % privately owned by foreign financiers...

you can serve criticism but unable to take it???

No one has said one bad word about Turkish people or ethnicity here
This is just about THY. You are bringing religion into the issue for a second time not me
i have never played the religious neo turkish islamlic ottoman...etc card but seems to me you have a memory problem so i suggest you you review you post history and say you haven't been such a contributor .. .

It really shows the attitude when a manager, because that is evidently what you are is using this style.
in contrary yabanci im not anyone with a supervisory or management position. I am however a professional working on the narrow body fleet trying at least make the most of the situation by harmonizing the differences between a growing Turkish aviation organisational culture and the experience, pool of knowledge and cultural traits which the expats brings to THY.
i rather take the option of getting up and doing something at least to make life that much bit better than sit behind a screen or corner and bit*ch about it.
i have always said THY no glory or Utopian organisation i accept that!!! i also accept there is going to be a few issues that comes to working in a national airline as an ex-pat what i dont except is personalities such as your self rather trying to solve an issue, you demean, slur and at times with you sub 1940's views vilify a community with you criticism based on inaccurate information.
in simple terms i rather contribute than follow the retribution path ...

But we are watching, Europe is watching and guess where your passengers are mainly coming from?
and your point is ???? Of course EASA is watching and so it should be...its called oversight unless there is something illegal or outside the boundaries of acceptable safety for EASA... then all you and Europe do is watch... and lett expats like me and locals enjoy or at least make the most of what we have.
I do believe you still have to learn basic education
may be so may be not but i do know for a fact you still need to learn the basic facts of a corporate world, the basic facts of life in general and above all learn to be a professional (based on your previous posts)
if somehow that was personally to me my friend, then im sorry to disappoint you but i done more academic studies and research at a tertiary level within the field of aviation than what you might think...

now my objective with this thread was to highlight that THY is now accepting FAA.. ICAO licences meaning at-least some changing is happening and to give a professional that doesn't have the benefit of having a job like you or who might be on the other side of the globe away from family.... a chance to make something of it at least ...

About Yabancy and His Racist Behaviours

Dear GF4RCE,
I was thinking that I am the only one who sees the humiliating posts of Yabancy towards Turkish People, THY as well as this part of the world. Glad to see I am not alone. He has a lot of time to post here (probably not able to find a proper permanent job) and never misses the shoot. If someone creates a topic starting with TH., or Tur. he is the second one if not first to comment and discriminate.

STEXUP,
There is no way THY accepts ICAO/FAA license. As GF4RCE rightly said, it is because of Turkish DGCA. I am in favor of accepting all the licenses as long as they are up to level required. It is costing more money hiring EASA license holders than the rest. Supply and Demand issue...

YABANCY,
Please stop it. Thats enough... Dont you think so? Relax a bit...It is past and let it go... Leave the people alone... and stop humiliating entire region and Turkish People...

I am pilot with THY on wide body and was an expat pilot in different parts of the world. Passed DLR 1 and 2 and working on my PHD in the field Aviation Management. Associate consultant for some of the reputable organizations including European ones.

You blame me and people like me being pilot and researcher (having PHD, being biologist). Whats wrong with this? Cant be anyone more than a pilot and do sth towards better world and sustainable aviation? Then pilots has nothing to say about the future of aviation.. In your mind we just keep the stick and takeoff/land the airplane.. This was in 1960s.. Not valid anymore... I am not against the pilots with high school degree and expect them to respect my way of life as well.

We are all in the same boat and none of us will survive if we dont stop messing in each other...

For those who are claiming that it's a false rumor:

ICAO Level 4 in English,
Passing the English Exam which will be conducted in Istanbul by Turkish Airlines,
JAA/EASA, ICAO and FAA licences are acceptable.

Yabancy

First of all, it is not my understanding of English, but your way of expression is incorrect... If we have a look at all of your comments, not this particular one but entire PPRUNe, it is quite easy to say that you have something against the people from this part of the world..
Second, having academic qualification does not make you worse pilot... Being a good pilot is about skills not qualifications... Thats why I said I am not against the pilots with high school degree or ICAO/FAA licenses... As long as they are good, there shouldnt be any problem.
The only thing I agree with you the statistics... You are right about the past of THY in terms of crashes... It does not look good, but this also does not mean it will be the same in the future... We are all trying to make it better so there wont be any unforeseen circumstances which has some latent factors, management issues, FTL, pilot qualifications etc. in it...
I appreciate the attitude/knowledge expat pilots bring here and thank each of them... And glad to see more of them are in the que to join... Period

Turkish Airlines Roadshow in Hong Kong

Hi everyone,

Anyone going to the Turkish Airlines Roadshow in HKG?
Anybody has any idea of what to expect?? any individual interviews? Tech exam?

How long will it take for an experienced expat FO in Turkish to get upgraded??
(Considering one has only a high school diploma, which is the min required level to join as an experienced FO)

Thanks

By the way, could anyone who applied for Turkish give an information about that how are they going to check or verify the authencity of your documents e.g. licence, log book, university diploma... I mean are they going to contact your current airliner authorities...
Thanks in advance

wow....that sounds fishy. Should not matter if they call your country's DGAC/CAA/XXX. All should be fine right?

If your license is real, it's real. If the hours are true, it's true.

Everything is real but unfortunately all of my documents except my licence of course are not in my possession (now that sounds silly you might think) and once my airliner finds out that I'm applying for some place different they might lock my docs cos they're so jealous of their own pilots

so I got an assessment for THY in a couple of weeks. I was told that with my Masters degree that I would be able to move over to the widebody fleet at some time. Any truth to that?

I saw figures today that Turkish recruited 630 foreign pilots in 2013. I don't recall how many emirates used to put through in its day but 630 is a lot in any bodies language.
You would think that processing all these pilot qualifications a accurate ,efficient system would emerge
It hasn't !

What about A320 low hour? It seem that you have to get DLR at your expense to apply for a FO seat. You get a link to DLR test only if you are over 1500 tt. Plus degree and all other things...
