EK interview shortlist for FO'S
All Boeing courses filled until the end of the calendar year. The number of new hires this year has been reduced to circa 250. DEFO 380 still being interviewed.

I don't know mate. But things change quickly here. We are migrating crew off the 777 to the 380 this year, so make of that what you will.

Chaps, the bonus announcment was today, and we got nada. Hence the comments, falcon was talking about his normal ppc. Everyone here is bitterly disappointed. We have been working very hard, not able to get leave etc etc, and the company made buckets of money but gave us nothing. So right now expect some pissed off comments. It's nothing personal, just venting, and of course, if people still come here then our conditions will only get worse as they have the attitude if you don't like it, leave, since we are all replaceable by well, you chaps. I am not saying don't come here, but we all have a rice bowl that we would like to keep full but it's getting smaller and smaller, so expect a bit of sarcasm, venting and not a lot of help.

023DRIVER,
Far be for me to exhault my virtues, I am by definition a career FO, therefore my opinion is slightly more important at EK than perhaps one of the cleaners, I can though confirm I coped, but proud? you are having a laugh me thinks.

Well I for one am proud of you Falcon. But you wont have to worry about all that manual flying stuff when you cross dress onto the whale. Bet you can't wait!!!!

Well the Sim I did the other day involved high alt stalls, overspeeds, and cabin smoke/fire followed buy a manually flown rapid descent to a raw data ILS with no A/P or A/T with a gust x wind...with a G/A and an engine failure.
Is this a new sim profile for FO assessment? Quite different from what I've read in this thread.

Don't worry potential FOs, the sim is still as it was... A simple visual circuit followed a V1 cut and some non-normal management. And you get to use your own company's SOPs to make it easier.
It's still essentially the important bits of your 6-monthly sim check shortened to fit in an interview.
You don't have to perform miracles, just be safe and within sensible limits. If you can pass your PPC at any major carrier this should be no different.

Genuine question,
If you apply to EK with less than the min hours does the system automatically reject your application? Or does it just remain open so you can update as required?
Regards,
Flyer.

The sim session falconeasydriver described is really going on at EK at the moment, and it's not just for him.

Updating Application
Hi Guys and Girls,
Just wondered if anyone has any opinions on updating your EK app. Basically i've been shortlisted and waiting a while so its about time to update my info. I updated the relevant info but i'm wondering if EK will see that or whether I should resubmit the application which I'm sure will change my status back to under review!
Basically its to resubmit or not to resubmit that is the question??
I read some threads on the Shortlist status mine is written "Shortlisted" just if anyone is still wondering!
Thanks
LE

I think the general consensus is to update regularly. Wether it really goes to the top of a pile is anyones business but thats what folk there advise.
ps i have the more prestigious capitals SHORTLISTED so if i get the nod i'll let you know.
