Does anyone have any experience with these agencies??

They seem to be all part of the same company advertising for 737 rated Fo positions and non rated Airbus positions...?

MECCTI :: HIGH LIFE WITH MECCTI

Aviation Workforce

They also seem to be linked to this website as the website advertises all their jobs...?

yes, couple weeks ago i was interviewed by MECCTI for Air Arabia and it was like several rounds and stuff but in the end they told us that if we decide to take the job we will have to pay 1200 usd at once or 1900 usd if paying in parts. everyone was like WTF... having seen that girls are not willing to pay they offered us to pay in four parts 500 usd at once.. then another 500 in couple of months followed by 450 usd twice.

i am not sure this is legit.. i mean i am new in all this stuff but from what i heard airlines usually pay for everything themselves... dont they?

Paying an agency is highly unusual, and the fact that they spring this on you, seemingly at the last minute, is a really bad sign.

A quick look at their web site and it's obvious from the standard of english and spelling that it's not to be trusted.

Captain B737 300-900 TRI, 15000 hours

Gentlemen,
there was a question about MECCTI, nothing more nothing less , well the following>>as a Pilot for 30 years on different jets and turboprops iam seriously bothered about the way some people seems to talk about generally recruitment Agencies , and especially MECCTI now, and pilots.
Personally i have experience with MECCTI and his Management , which is sofar
EXCELLENT and there is no way anybody can judge with their experience what
recruitment agencies have to do , to get the necessary pilots especially youngsters with no experience in this market of shortage , you only can blame yourself if you dont succeed, period .
Secondly any comment on this PPrune is ALWAYS a case of inexperienced just starting people , who have the most brutal and agitating comments on recruitment agencies,as i have seen too many of them talking bull**** anyway.
Most of the time , its themselves who lacks knowledge , and they find always excuses to withdraw attention from themselves with regards to enough knowledge to find or get a position in the airline industry
If you comment guys be so eager to fly and get the experience for example with Emirates and lets see what those guys are all about ,do they hire you??
Then you will meet me with different airlines , and we will see what you are all about , you have the time with you , the market , so dont complain if you cannot succeed in getting a job and transfer all your hassle and problemmaking to another person or company especially MECCTI this time
Instead, think about your application , and the way you need to handle interviews and comment and talk together on PPrune about it with knowledge
and understanding, besides that its stupid, due to the fact a lot of captains are working for MECCTI all over the world, and they will be one day your Captain, do you have the bravery to complain to this Captain in public?? .
So please dont patronize anybody with regards to quality before you even can wash your nose in the airline industry

have a lot of good flights, with the best of luck ,
Pilothunk, TRI B737 300-900 , FK100 FK 70 ,FK50 , EMB120 ,EA500,MIL T38,L39 etc, connected in the past to different recruitment agencies and now to MECCTI

Dear Pilothunk, it was a pleasure reading you. Now you can log off from pprune and never come back again

-Boeing europe, misz: run away, this is probably a scam. And even if it was legit, the mere fact that you have to pay something mean the agency is crap.

Seriously, how gullible can people be?

PILOTHUNK... well I for one, have never paid a recruitment agency, and I never would !

Imho, the P2F thing (which seemingly now also includes bribing a recruitment agency to get one a job within an airline) has done more to drive down the T&C's (of us ALL), plus harmed standards, than just about anything else I can think of in the nearly 30 years that I've been in airline aviation... and your response, to such an appalling practice, seems to be very much one of encouraging it, and if that's genuinely your position on how wannabes should be obtaining a job, well shame on you!

And as for you spouting on about having a TRI, 15k hours, and a Cmd on a B737..... is that all?!

So PILOTHUNK...thought you were asked very kindly by several to log off and go away...I guess my English is not so good as your is for a special...oh, well, whatever you say...

I've worked in the Mid-East/Africa always recruited by an agency and never paid said agency...quite the contrary...the agencies always paid me quite well...

Happy TRI'ing...

Do I still need to pay to fly for Oman??? I mean pay a huge amount of money to Meccti, I heard it around 4000usd besides paying my own air ticket to the screening.

Anyone has news about this Meccti etc. because what I see they are desperate for pilots, even lower there requirements to CPL.

@ JetJockey, Meccti is a recruiter based in Ras al K. I have been told they ask for 4000 USD after you have been hired for Services rendered by them. I heard of some other Crew, Not applying to Omanair BTW, who suddenly got presented with a piece of paper with that clause in it. 4000 does sound awfully steep for presenting your CV etc.
I think the word is out as People are Bypassing them to go direct to the Company avoiding this problem.

As many have said on this thread Omanair is the last choice if you want to fly for a Middle Eastern Carrier.

As an owner of an aviation recruitment firm, I can say that no agency/rec firm should be charging the jobseeker upfront at all for them to find you a job.

I know in Europe this is not allowed but can't comment on countries in Asia & the Middle East. Personally, if I was looking for a job, I would not consider using a company that would charge me as recruitment companies make their money from the companies they recruit on behalf of and that should be enough!
