a little query
Hey guys,
My online application status has been showing "shortlisted" since aug'11 and
I have been silently reading all the EK threads here on pprune since quite a long time now. Came across some really wonderful knowledge off-website. But after everything i have read in this thread, i still can't help understanding that when you all mention the word "hold pool", is it for people like me awaiting the very first call/mail to induction rounds or for the people who have already been interviewed and tested and waiting for their joining call/mail?
Someone, please clarify.
Safe landings...

Just_landed
Just curios, we were wondering in this thread how big the pool was.
We thought the pool went from February to July, but you say you interviewed in August?
Was that for FO or DEC?
Cheers.

That's for F/O.
sorry to go off-topic guyz but, i am suprised to see the absolute ignorance Ek is showing to people like me for a mere yes/no for over a year now, and this is when the online application shows it consistently since then.
can somebody guide me about their online application codes for status, right from - under review, shortlisted........(please fill up the rest for me).

Status is "applied, under review and shortlisted" in that order. There is no further change to your status after being shortlisted, not even after you have attended the selection and passed it. Basically, the next step for you is to receive an email from a real person (recruiter or recruitment assistant) inviting you to a selection and offering dates to choose from. But as I said, no further changes to your application status, it will remain as shortlisted until you have passed the selection and have been offered a position.

Hi to everybody,
Ive just landed in this forum. I passed my selection late in May, we were only two FO and 14 DEC. Im currently flying B737NG, over 6500 on type in a skyteam alliance airline.
Thanks a lot for updating news from dxb....and by the time being....swimming in the pool.
And I got this letter from HR on september 06th...
Following on from our last update in July, we would like to advise you that the situation remains the same and our next courses planned for First Officers start in January 2013 on our Boeing Fleet. Therefore we are likely to start making some offers for those courses at the very end of September. We have not confirmed numbers at this stage. We do not require any more First Officers to start on our Airbus Fleet for the remainder of the financial year.
You continue to remain in a successful applicant pool from which we identify, select and fill our training courses to meet our Airline's training needs and fleet expansion plans. Please note that to join Emirates, you must have flown a commercial aircraft on a regular basis within the 12 month period before your start date. As you would be aware, Emirates is a rapidly expanding Airline and as a result, we experience change continually. It is possible then, that we may experience further changes to the above which could result in us requiring pilots to start sooner or later than we expect at this stage.
The number of candidates in the applicant pool does exceed the expected number of new joining pilots this financial year. It is likely that we will not be able to offer all successful candidates a position before April 1st[/U][/U]. Given the planned growth we have ahead of us though, our pilot numbers will undoubtedly continue to grow and therefore your desire to remain interested in a position with Emirates is important to us.
If you have any questions relating to this e-mail, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Anybody else get a call a couple of days ago to update details, with a view to offering course dates in Jan??
Was told to expect a call again either yesterday or today, and am now wearing a groove in the floor pacing up and down waiting for said call!!

Just a heads up for any new joiners who are DECs or joining with Kids- Check the accomodation situation.
I believe there is a severe shortage of Villa accomodation, so check with recruiting.

Great news, congratulations! Please let us know when you are assigned an actual start date. Did any March or April interviewees receive the same call? A friend at Emirates says he was told the pool will be empty by Feb. Fingers crossed...

friend of mine got the same call, he's from Feb.
No call for the guys from May.
Apparently they ask something like "are you still interested in working with us?" Don't think many guys will say no, right?
Good luck!
