Allowances Seattle

Just noticed the briefing sheet for Seattle. The daily allowance is on average 33-35% lower than all other US destinations.
Maybe a new way to try and help keep the BMI down.

They may have arranged a crew discount at a nearby pizza outlet which would account for the reduced allowance.

They have done this in the past. At a Manchester hotel back in the nineties, when times were supposedly good.

I have to agree, it seems very low and typically, you're almost forced to eat in the hotel with all the build in discounts.... nice bonus for the EK negotiator though

Maybe all they think you'll need is Starbucks. Makes sense at EK !

How much is the allowance per day? Seattle is not cheap, so I'm surprised to hear the allowance is that much less than other US destinations.

The problem is always nutrition and, at some stations, the basic availability of food.

We do not live on local time necessarily, whether it be DXB time or the overnight time and so food of good quality and a diverse selection should always be available. Most hotels don't qualify especially in off peak hours.

So our hotels should be based in location with accessible food and the per diems based on actual food prices in that city and not a discounted hotel price.

But someone, somewhere looks good by designing these deals. Dare I say it--but this should be applied at least to the pilots.

Happy to see it's a two-day layover, a little surprised they didn't try to shorten it...guess they saved themselves from hundreds of ASRs

Thumbs down

Don't forget, the allowances do NOT include tax and tip. That is on you!!
