Upgrading directly to the left seat in Emirates

Hi,

I am interested in joining EK. Just a320 type rating will not be preferable, so after earning a380 rating in my current company and around a year experience then I will apply to EK as a a380 first officer.

I am wondering EK usually put their new FO in a380 directly without experience a330 or b777 and Also, whether A380 FO could move to left seat directly at the same time of becoming a captain.

Appreciated in advance

So, SQ are going to put you on the A380 with 1500hrs experience?

And you think moving to the desert will be better than living in Singapore?!

Jebus.

The kid says he has a320 rating. Doubt very much he's from SQ.

However, it's still a valid question: Are you really really high?

Most of you need to re-read the original post.

Yes they will be hiring directly onto the 380.
Odds are those hired onto or transfer to the 380 will do their upgrade on the 380, note that that upgrade should be @ 7 years, well past the life of the 330.
With the 320 you might go on the 330 and able to transfer in less than a year to the 380.
Currently short on the 330 hopefully sorted soon ( 6 m )
If Truth be told ,best fleet to be hired on at the moment would be 330, before all the experts go on a rant have a long look at the fleet plan through to 2020, a very large number of 777 new hire fo's have no A/C to upgrade on.

(with previous Airbus experience)
Why? is the fatbus so hard to learn.
Being a transport Pilot is basically about systems and inertia management. The 380 was designed to replace the 744 which comes closest in terms of mass and velocity. Getting a feel for the side stick and learning the theory of alpha floor is a minor detail in the broad spectrum.

It's about cost. A Boeing pilot would require a full conversion course, an Airbus pilot not.
