My flat overlooks the Pearl roundabout, and I can tell you that people (peaceful protesters) were shot and tear-gassed at 3am 3 days ago. I saw it and have video of it. I did not witness the alleged machine-gunning of the protesters the day after, and after watching the footage, can't say one way or the other whether it is genuine (except to say that it was filmed on location, in front of the army positions which included sand-bagged machine gun nests).
The pro-govt rallies near Juffair were huge (at least as big as the anti), and were not populated by paid imports. They were bahrainis. I have video of the day before yesterday, and colleagues have photos of todays (which was also shown live on local tv from the air).
Sorry to rain on the various agendas with facts.

Today's anti-government rally was spectacular. New York Times reporter on the ground says it was the largest peaceful demonstration in Bahrain's history.
When looking at the photo below might be worth noting that the opposition in Bahrain do not have access to state-run TV and radio to drum up support like the ruling family does.

That is a big demo alright.
Opposition does not have state run TV, radio etc., but they do have the Mosques and the net which was incredibly slow today for whatever reason.
Time to pack the bags perhaps?

Oh well, if it's New York Times or the BBC, it has to be true, hasn't it?
Show me your videos/pictures.
Put them here for us to see.
Machine gun nests mowing down women and children who are probably waving flowers at their executors while Yankee bombers nuke their playgrounds.
You're not Michael Moore, the film maker are you?
Because despite the fact he is insanely rich, fat and ugly, lives in a massive house in America.
I cannot be arsed to complete this
See ya

Monty, it's difficult to tell who you are addressing with your debating ability of a 12 yo. So I'll let the pic above do the talking- which is probably why you have done the walking! It's frustrating when the facts don't align with your 'reality', isn't it!
The question is: How long can rallies of this size be ignored? And how long will they bear being ignored- and then what happens?

Lack of Trust
There is obviously a lack of trust between the ruling family and Bahrainis. The dissolved 1973 parliament and suspension of the constitution, impose of non-contractual constitution (2002), Bander gate, nationalization of mass of foreigners and mass of violations to human rights all do not create mutual confidence.
When a person lies at me once, I may be forgive him or her. But when lies continue for 40 years, how can I trust him or her? The demands are clear; what people voted on in 2000; constitutional monarchy. The demands do not require further bureaucracy or dialogue. No country claims democracy has the same prime minister for 40 years, the oldest in the world!
The questions are nonetheless, will Saudi Arabia accepts a change that conforms with the minds of Bahrainis? Another, will existing prime minster accepts to step down?! America and Europe left Egyptian deposed president and won millions of Egyptians, and so the ruler of Bahrain must do.
