What the don is alluding to is this: Emirates make the rules in a fairly arbitrary manner. They also regularly change the rules the same way. They won't necessarily tell you what the rules are but you are expected to know them anyway. Maybe yesterday they would have accepted an application from a C17 pilot, but today they won't. Tomorrow they might again. Filling in the application is really good practice for what life is like when you get here.

Thanks for the info. I read a lot of negative about EK. Can not be that much more worse than the Military but at least the pay is better at EK ;-)
I am just considering my options to make a career switch. I crew rested several times in Dubai and mainly enjoyed it but I can also imagine living there is different story. I submitted my application so let's see what happens.

There are a ton of jobs back home now buddy. 90% of the Americans here are looking to leave or go home. If you get the 380, you'll have a great life here. If you get the 777, not so much. The negatives listed here are mostly true so really consider if you want to work for these people. You WILL have to pose naked and spread your butt cheeks for them.....
