Thanks Bus Driver Man!

Any areas or buildings that should be avoided? Can you decline one of the offers when you arrive?

Bond starts from completion of skills test in the sim and runs for 5 years. It used to be 3 years until quite recently. Draw your own conclusions.

And didn't they increase the amount of the bond at the same time?

Yep, I think the increase of the bond from 3 to 5 years speaks volumes. What other reason would EK make this change to new joiners T's & C's?

And yes, the bond has increased from $36k to $42k. So the drawdown is now 20% per year ISO 33.3% per year.

Maybe Emirates is increassing the salary of their employes??

As I can see in their web the anounce that
First Officer: Monthly Salary Dhs 29,700
before was 25400

And also the same for the CPT
Captain: Monthly Salary Dhs 42,015

That figure of 29,700 Dhs includes an hourly flying pay of 85hrs so no, the basic salary has not changed. In fact in hasn't changed for the last 3 years. It certainly needs to as it is neither competitive in the current market nor is it in any way relevant to the cost of living change in Dubai over those 3 years.

Almost every single positive element of working for Emirates is going in the wrong direction at the moment. Just look at the threads here about max flying hours and lack of annual leave amongst others. There is no indication that any attempts are being made to address and improve any of these issues. Quite the opposite actually.

There are better options out there, even in the this region.

I would formally on this forum to do one thing, thank my daring wife to provide me the option not to work ( at Emirates) anymore. I know that many, many of my fellow pilots are not in the same position,

But it does feel nice.

Yesterday FEB-22, i received a call from EK Human Resources, i've submitted my CV in DEC 2014, They just clarified my CV information and requested a possible date to perform an interview in MIAMI.

Regards,

How will Emirates justify this flight as truly Open Skies when it is alleged 7th Freedom Rights which are prohibited under Open Skies are being utilized through the A-380 flight via Milan to JFK?

I am going for Pilot Selection Programme in Dubai shortly.

Im very courious about the schedule.
On the roadshow we where shown a roster with 4 periods with 4 days off.

Can anyone post a roster or send me an PM?

I would be very grateful.

I have not seen a roster like that for years. Its nonsense to suggest you will have a roster like that. Also , ask how many guys are getting their 42 days vacation. Lots are not.

Ek Fleet

Amongst the A330/340, A380 & B777 which would be now considered the best fleet to be on in terms of roster , lifestyle and destinations??

The 777 and 380 are considered one airline...with the 330/340 being "completely another". There really is no comparison, with the 330/340 roster/lifestyle being absolutely horrible IMHO.
