According the GCAA CAR MED, up to index of 35 you're fit if you're considered healthy to operate. Other than that, stupidity from the bouncy castle....

Anyone know the reason why they say you must use your US or Australian Passports if you held either over other nationalities held?

ATR72 to Emirates

Just wondering if my type rating would be a problem. Is it ok to apply EK with turboprop type ratings? Anyone know information if there's first officers from propellers?

There are turboprop pilots in EK, not sure if they are actively recruited at the moment as there seems to be a large pool of jet pilots available.

Cadet pilot program

Hi guys, a friend who he's a UAE national and had just completed his cadet training told me that they have started accepting internationals. Pilots at EK how true is it? I've been to the website it still open for nationals alone.

Question

Hello all,

I recently passed my assessment at Emirates and been told they’ll proceed with the rest of the approvals. Does anyone know what that actually means and how long does this usually take?

Also has anyone been rejected after having passed the assessment in a Dubai?

Thanks in Advance

Once you pass everything your application then goes to management for final approval. Falling at the final hurdle is rare as far as I am aware but it can happen and has to a friend of mine.

Thanks for that info Emma...I’m just patiently waiting for my approval now.

Just out of curiosity, what happened to your friend after they got rejected? How long did he/she have to wait to reapply?

He never reapplied. Not sure if he was simply not interested in doing so or that he was not given the chance to do so.

There were 2 others that passed the assessment day like myself...they had the email for referencing details sent to them the week after. Once you receive this email I think it means your file has been cleared and you’ve passed selection.

Your medical has to be approved before they can complete the approvals...I had extra medical tests to do so my approval has fallen behind.

The internationals on the cadet programme have either come in from EFTA or have connections in the company with some wasta. Otherwise, I doubt you have much chance.

I recently progressed through all the assessment stages in Dubai. A week after I returned I saw that my medical was approved and a day after that I got an application unsuccessful and apply again after two years email.

So it is possible to get a No after "passing" in Dubai and the re-apply period seems to be 2 years, but I have heard of guys applying again after 6 months and getting another assessment opportunity.

It's not only supply and demand but also it's global demographics . Experience levels of applications change overnight and also dictate who gets offered a job. That being said for those who take the job be very prepared for everything to change many times . No one is ever promised anything!
