Another high class post there ladies and gents worldwide reading these comments. Yep, another idiot EK pilot who hasn't grown up yet, responsible for flying you and your loved ones from A to B. It's quite frightening how many there are at this airline...
Grow up, Moron AIMINGHIGH123.

Well, 'he' should fit right in at EK! There are quite a number pilots with a similar mindset!
Wannabe or not, this is a "professional pilots forum" not a 'messed up pilots' sordid personal lives forum'. I really do not want to hear what disgusting, low class behaviour some individuals get up to down route/ behind their family's backs etc. There are other forums where that trash can be discussed.

Back to the topic of aviation and Emirates please.

So not many issues with you then. Perhaps you need to make some new friends, as I don't know any that fall into the category you appear to spend time with .

Anyone able to provide an accurate estimate of the money one might be able to save per year as a direct entry FO assuming you didn’t head to the nearest Porsche garage on weekend 1, but taking into account living costs etc?

(Ie I can see how much they pay FOs on the website, but I don’t really know how much you’d expect the spend per month when you factor time down route and time spent in Dubai at expensive brunches...)

Hello everyone, I need advice from you guys a little confused now. My situation now is:
- Done with 2000+ hours flying 320 now. Currently 24 yo.
- My command will take another year from now to start.
- Presently as SFO flying 80-90 hours a month here and post command gonna be the same with 4 sectors and 2 sectors flight with layover pattern of 24-48 hours. So flying is hectic here as well, 4 days continous morning then rest and then couple of afternoon followed by morning again.
- I have an opportunity to join EK now. Some people are advising me to get my command here build up atleast 1000 PIC hours and then move to ME and others are suggesting its a good opportunity for me considering my age as nothing can beat the exposure I will get there.
- Money wise as a captain here my take home gonna be 6000USD its lesser than what I can make in EK. Cost of living I am very well aware of as I have stayed in Duabi before for couple of months, I don’t drink so only fun for me will be to go on a drive or for a walk on the beach with my wife.

Considering all these points what do you guys suggest should I really go to EK and get my time on 380 and wait for my command there or take command here build up hours and then go there? Really appreciate your inputs and time and yes, if someone can shed some light on the roster there for 380 FO will be thankful.

Without the command opportunity I would try EK but as you can get the left seat in a year, I would stay for a while

An American friend of mine who is a non pprunner asked me to find out what an Emirates background check is like regarding your pilot training records from your last or even previous company before that.

He has 1 failed skills test in his life with about 3 or 4 jet type ratings but this failure is at his present company. Apparently the training department there is quite rubbish and he is worried how it will affect him going forward.

He does not want to disclose it if he does not have to but wont lie if asked.

So basically what do they request from your previous companies regarding your training, attendance record, references etc?

Thanks on his behalf to any EK pilots or anyone in the know that replies.

?Emirates documentation check?

Hi guys! Could anybody share some information about what documents does Emirates need from candidates to bring with them. For example certified logbook, pilot and medical licenses with CAA confirmation letter. Anything else?
Thanks, regards.

Does anyone have a copy of a 777 FO roster in EK that they could possibly DM me? Very curious to see what a month looks like. Heard max of 8 days a month actually in DXB.

many thanks!

and don’t forget the 8 days you have off a month is not really 8 because after all the night flying and Indian turns you’re so tired all you do is sleep away your days off.

I know this will not help very much but it’s not much use to share a single Boeing roster, as there is much variation in what you can end up with. 8 days off is not a maximum but as has been mentioned, it’s not unusual to see 8 days off a month. However it has been many months since I last had this personally, plus my rosters were generally better when I was a F/O as well.

Anyone worked for Emirates as a cabin crew? If so, can you tell me how was it like for you?

Tamii, what do you want to know? There used to be extensive threads that unfortunately have disappeared, much like postings elsewhere that are less than glowing.

My TL;DR version: good for a gap year, no longer a career. If you have responsibilities and/Or opportunities in your own country think twice. It's no longer a working environment for mature adults or anyone who's like to be healthy long term...

PM if you like, to avoid too much thread drift...
