Seven weeks for me. 5 out 10 from my group got offers from EK. One guy got his two weeks after the interview, he needed to know right away. Anyway they have not checked my references and I have not been told no thanks either. So here I sit, and sit, and sit, and sit.

Anyway got another job offered in another company, with better T&C but still hoping the good news to arrive

So let me see if I understand this, you got a job offer, with better package, yet you still want to come to EK?

so there are alot of pilots in america with high time in the market...

i have heard that EK is giving this guys priority and interview slots to them..

QAR in reply to your question the numbers of pilots required by Emirates has dropped this year the rumours are no more 777's for at least six months which means the only recruitment at the moment will be on the Bus. EK will go for the more qualified pilots ie Boeing or Airbus in order to reduce training costs.

FWIW I've got 6500 hrs. completed the on line application on the Sunday and had the interview dates by the Wednesday!
Having said that, attended the assessment 8 weeks ago now and still haven't heard!
Contacted them 2 weeks ago to ask for a decision and was told that these things take time and will hear in due course..................still waiting!!

EK has the ball in their court again , lots of airlines in trouble and they again are very picky, only 4000+, the 3500 for the interview is gone as well as you need the weight behind you ,55 tones and 2000jet.
Also B777 delayed and they are now only hireing for the busses.

Am I correct ? this is the latest i heard on the flight deck

Good luck...

That was a good read...thank you!
Just curious: Did you have auto/throttle, F/D, A/P usage during the single eng. appr. or was it all manual as well?

Warbirds

Yes.

I was fortunate enough to be an airline sponsored cadet. It was a steep learning curve though!

Efacto

The single engine work was mainly stick and rudders. You do get the AT for the take off run, and on the T7, there is single AT control.

No FD, no AP and no TAC (thrust assymetry control, i think its something to assist rudder deflection during single engine).

I got radar vectored for localiser intercept and thereafter it was Raw Data flying down to minimas.

Have fun!

Seems that the profile varies a bit. I was on the A310 and during the prebrief they told us that we could use the FD during the SE portion of the ride and I did...you'd be crazy not to. They also allowed me to use the Auto throttle but I chose not to because I'm only familiar with the AT system on the 320 and the 310 was completely different.

I guess the A310 is a new addition to the sim evals? I'm currently on the 320 so I'm assuming that is what I will get for my eval. Regardless, I think I'll be using whatever help I can get! I've not manipulated a throttle in many years!

Being a 320 driver doesn't mean you'll be on the 310. I know 4 guys with no Boeing time and a bunch of 320 time that did their evals in the 777. It's just luck of the draw. Also, during the prebrief, they told us that the 310 auto throttle system over compensates thrust movements while single engine, and if you're comfortable, you're probably better off without using it. Maybe a 310 driver can lend some more help.

Emirates Interview

7000 hrs total, PIC type in the a320 with 700 hrs, 5000 hrs in a dash ... I got the email stating I did not meet there qualifications!!!

I hope this is just a computer generated response and that a human will look at the applications!.....

Anyone got any ideas about this?
