This is from the emirates website- Has this changed?? is this amount the same as guys that started at the beginning of the current recruitment drive?? Or has it gone up or down?? Seems less than I remember when I first looked to be honest. Maybe I'm wrong.
Why havent they mentioned the actual basic wage? Anyone know what that is, without the fight pay- has that changed???? Confused!!!!

If you work on 8 crews per aircraft plus an attrition factor of 3 - 4%, you will be in the ballpark

....just a suggestion for interview. If you are married, bring a spouse with you. You will look more determined to join them. In my case everybody who are married and did not brought their wife with them to DXB fail the selection process. I'm not saying this is a fact, but if I look back it does make some sense. They are paying for everything for both and you show up alone. Maybe you won't look very serious looking from their prospective. Since the main reason for leaving EK are the families which couldn't stand the desert no more.... So if you are single you will be just fine.

Really?? I have heard of a few married guys being offered the job and had not brought their wives out. Never heard of any failing because they did not.

Personally, I have my final stage next month and can't bring the missus because it's my sons birthday, and we have nobody to take care of them. My wife already knows Dubai and is fully supportive. Can't see them marking me down on that. Also, they don't pay for everything. I understand it's only the accom, you have to cover the cost of air fare for your wife.

Are you sure you / they did not fail in another area?

...of course I'm not sure, they don't tell you, but all of the guys I have met later in the evening we all have that in common, small children and didn't bring the spouse. Or maybe is just a coincidence.And singles failed as well, but in two years I will bring her along.

Don't worry about the family. If it's not convenient, don't bring them. I didn't bring mine, four other guys I interviewed with didn't bring theirs, and we were all hired. Two guys I was with brought their wives and didn't get in. It really doesn't matter. Good luck

I interviewed with a guy wearing dark blue socks, he didn't get in, although all the dudes that did get in wore black socks.

Guys don't sweat the small stuff. Just be yourself and try to enjoy the recruiting days. You have the job unless you talk yourself out of it or have a bad day in the SIM.

EK do not pay for your spouse.
He/she may share your room free of cost- that's all. You share the daily allowance and you buy a full fare ticket (no discount...)

What an ephemeral and tenuous subject….no being hired because you did not bring your wife along for a professional job interview. So what happens if I bring along my wife and in-laws?
Please this thread has too much useless information posted for to help a professional obtain information/tips/ advice for a successful interview. Let’s post information worth the reading.
Most of us are subscribed to this Org. because we DO NOT have time for surfing the net for hours, And yup! We have kids, a wife, a job and in-laws.

Are the road shows recommended for someone that is still short on the mins, (about 700 short of TT but only 300 short of 2500 commercial jet) but has time in the 777 and currently flying it? Or should I wait until I'm closer to the mins? The show I'm considering is in Hawaii and going to be pricey and want to make sure I don't waste their time or mine. Will they "short list" me if I meet with them despite being short on mins? Thanks in advance.

If one is not successful in the Selection Program, one may reapply after a period of 24 months. (By that time it is a new.... ball game!!).
Therefore one has to be prepared, and if unsuccessful forget Emirates and plan a new course...talking about "underpressure".
