PS2 time

Don

What I heard you can count up to 250 hrs on B777 A330/340 on PS3. PS2 doesn't meet the requirement.

Well I am counting on that! I think they prefer boxing on Wii as they mention referees on the application form.

Hello,

You should have received an email for possible selection dates initially. They only call you if you haven't replied to the email to see if you're still interested.
I find it strange an actual pilot called you as they have their own recruitment personnel who offer the selection dates. As far as I am aware, these people are not flight crew. The latter is obviously different for the actual assessment on the day.

Only speaking from experience.

Newbie here..

Can anyone give an idea of what kind of questions are asked in the Advanced Compass Test as well what type of test is conducted in the SIM? ... I just want to have a general idea of what to expect in case I make my mind about applying to EK ...

Also, in regards to having a live there (Dubai) ... what can a married guy like me (no kids) expect to spend a month having a normal way of living.. like in home country ... ? what I am trying to say is can one expect to safe some money during the month with a FO salary or is this out of the question?

Hi Guys,

I'll apologise in advance if this question has been asked already. If given the choice of Airbus 330/340 or Boeing 777 which option would you recommend. I am currently on the 737 and just how difficult would the transition from Boeing to Airbus be? Also, I ve heard that your fleet choice can have a bearing on the your quality of life? Im married with kids, and would enjoy spending more time with the family, flying the shorter days than away for up to 10 days at a time, for example.

Obviously, flying an Airbus opens up a lot of options with A320 family then A330/340/350 and possibly 380. I am more interested in a better quality of life if given a choice.

I would really appreciate any of your thoughts!

many thanks chaps and chapesses

Guys

Just stay home... it will be the best decision of your life.
Just consider EK or any other ME carrier if you are in deep ****e.... Do your self a favor! 330,380,777, at the end you will be some how disappointed and your life and the one of your family will become sad...extremely sad...!! By the way... sorry mate you will not have a chance to chose the fleet and no...saving money is almost impossible. In Dubai there is just one thing in your free time you can do.. spending it!!! And they are very good at making you spend a lot...!! Ramadan mubarak!!

Contacted ( by who..by the way?) I don't think you are doing a favor to your fellow colleagues.... I know is kind of consolatory to bring people to suffer what you suffer and to do your same mistakes.. Probably someone did the same to you before....

YOU CANNOT CHOOSE THE FLEET and both sucks.
Plan 94 hrs per month with multiple night departures and turnaround to India on the Airbus and the same on 777. They may start hiring directly on 380 but just people with previous wide body experience.

STAY WHERE YOU ARE !!!

Once again, Sheik demonstrates how much of a tool he is.

I have two friends who just joined EK and they were BOTH given a CHOICE whether they wanted the 777 or 330.

Yes, I guess my friends, in their delusional state, "imagined" the email giving them the choice between the 777 and 330.

It's a wonder they passed the psych exam given their delusional state of mind.

ohhhh...so it was in an email, pre-joining! ROTFLMAO!

yeah, for sure they'll honour what they said once he gets to Dubai.... hahaha he is in for a treat!

He'll be put on whatever fleet they need, the day they decide. Period. Has has no choice. The pre-hiring stuff is all just lies and noise, whatever it takes to get you to Dubai and signing the pieces of paper they send you. (Can't dignify it with the term "contract").

He might get the fleet he wants (or thinks he wants, the rosters are **** no matter how you cut it) but that will be by luck not design.

Sim Hours

Hi Guys,

Does anyone know if you can include Sim (level D) hours for the total 2500? Or does it have to be actual flying?

Thanks

normally don't put SIM time as flying time.
and mostly cat D is minimum(or basic) requirement for decent airline training.
but I have no idea about EK regulations so I will pass the answer to other guy.

Sim time does not count for EK, must be actual flying.
