Interesting enough. I went to one of the info sessions and asked the very nice HR lady how long it takes from the moment you get shortlisted to the call and what's the percentage of people shortlisted that is actually called to interview. She replied that it usually takes 2-3 weeks and they call 100% of the people. I received the email about being shortlisted 1 year ago!!! They were actually great at explaining what people liked and what they didn't like about EK. Nowhere they mentioned the possiblity to go to ATL for the sim. Another thing they said is that they dropped the mins to 30 tons. Now a very silly question. Is it 30 tons as in 60,000 lbs or is it 30 METRIC tons, as in 30,000 kilos? Because that would be just over 66,000 lbs, so someone might get a little disappointed.

millenium towers apartment - Dubai - Emirates Cabin Crew

Hey guys,

not sure if this is the right post for this thread but just a newbie here (don't shoot me please), but I like to ask anybody who knows about the living conditions of the named apartment?

some questions I have:

1) do they have a main reception i.e. security desk at the ground floor of apartment? if so, what is the number and the address of this place?

2) how big is the apartment? 2, 3 or 4 bedded rooms?

3) do they provide a dedicated landline to each rooms or do they have a single landline to the apartment?

Pm me please.

thanks in advance!

Called for interview

I was called about 5 weeks ago from a Captain at Emirates stating I had been selected for interview and offering me a variety of dates I could attend. I told him I would be free in October, to which he said he would add me to the list and I would receive an email confirming my place on that particular selection and confirmation of flights. Since then I have received nothing. Is anyone else in the same boat?

Regards

C2LL, may have been a management pilot at your current airline sniffing around to see whos looking to leave.

This scam was apparently running at my previous airline a few years back.

It's a thought but the call came from a Dubai number.

1. Yes they have a security desk
2. There is a mix of 2 and 3 bedroom apartments
3. 1 line will be provided by emirates if you want a line in additional room you pay for it yourself, unless you are cabin crew sharing the apartment in which case you have a line each in your bedroom.
Sorry can't give out sensitive telephone number info, you may be looking for somebody who doesn't want to be found.

C2LL,

Was this call a reply to an inquiry/application you had made or was it a random call to seek interest in EK? If it was a reply to an application, then I would follow up with the Captain if you have his name (and hopefully email address). Doesn't hurt to follow-up if you have been promised information - tell him you are looking to confirm the dates.

Good luck

Iver,

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I didn't get his name and the number he called from seems just to go to answer phone when I call. The website is equally unhelpful, as it doesn't give any contact details for the HR department.

If you're an ozzie, why do you need an English language test?

Fair go blokes, struth I'm not a flamin galah!

Just enquiring about any ozzie applicants as recent posts seam to be all about US and European road shows - something we don't get. Also there were several posts in the early page 90's about applicants recieving phone calls to varify english fluency before being invited to interview.

If there are any Australains who are in the application process or have recently been accepted any info would be greatly appreciated.
thanks.

All EK pilots undertake an English language test.

I am a native English speaker. My test was as simple as carrying out a conversation with an examiner during briefing.

Those who don't have English as their native language can answer as to what they had to go through.

Hour Requirements

Hi guys,

Have Emirated lowered the requirements again?

From what I can tell it seems to be lowered FROM 2500 to 2000 multi-engine, multi-pilot aircraft on their website?

Can anyone confirm or have any info?

Cheers.

No they haven't. Just taken a look at their website and it's just the same as it's been for the past few months (as far as I can tell). It's still 4000TT with 2000 Multi Crew OR 2500 Multi Crew.
