I was in a meeting yesterday and the latest manpower plan is to hire 2000 more pilots over the next 5 years. For those of you wondering about upgrades do the maths. It's probably going to be 6 1/2 years if you joined today based on those numbers, not factoring any attrition.

not factoring any attrition.
Currently 3% and rising.

Is the intent to hire 2000 more or increase our complement by 2000 more?

With the above attrition, we'd need another 3-400 on top of that.

There is going to be at least one 777 and 330 course a month well into 2011,if they can 400/year for the next 5 years. I wonder if they need 2000 more because of attrition and A/C deliveries.

Rokape,

How about you quit acting like a boob? Thanks for wasting our time with no new information. Last I heard this was a "rumour" network - right? I know people and you know people. I know pilots at EK and they give me their opinions. You have your opinion and they have their opinions. Get it? Am I typing too fast for you?

You sound like one of those old, bitter, insecure jacka$$es who loves to put down people to feel better about themselves. Well, I hope you feel better now. But don't worry, I really don't care what you think. If I am dead wrong about something (factual), please correct me. I don't mind factual corrections. If I relay an opinion of someone else that is pertinent to this thread, that is my business and not yours. If you are so upset about your life at EK, perhaps you should man-up and leave town like a big boy.

With regard to pictures, some people like them and some don't. If you don't like looking at picture links, how about you NOT click on the link and instead just stick to your attempted put-downs and insults? Better yet, how about you not look at the posts if you don't have anything of value to share? Have a great day!

Iver,

You are right about Rokape. He seems very unhappy.

Stay off the Airbus! I jsut finished two weeks leave earlier in the month and I can not tell you how much better I felt when it was over. I slept 8-10 hours a day and in addition to that I took a kip every day for an hour to two hours a day. I felt so much better that I had no idea how bad my body and attitude was before the leave. My wife and kids noticed a big difference and so did I.
8 days off a month and still flying 85 hours a month just sucks! It does long term damage and puts one in a early grave. A much too early grave.
Get out while you can and stay away if you can. Come if you must but start buying life insurance

Thanks for wasting our time with no new information
I do have new information for you. Get the experience, pass the interview and work for EK. Then after a year or two in and an attitude re-adjustment, you can post with a modicum of authority. Or do you just like to think you can post as an equal with the big boys on the big issues? These forums are full of keyboard warriors, squeezers like yourself, that have never been there never done that and not even bought the t-shirt, telling people "how it is"

this was a "rumour" network - right?
If I am dead wrong about something (factual)
You do not have facts you have hearsay. Which do you want, a rumour or factual network?

If you are so upset about your life at EK, perhaps you should man-up and leave town like a big boy.
Sage advice on the Middle East from a numpty that is living in the digital world flipping between PPRuNe and airliners.net. As for the "man-up", look I don't mind you people but your sexual orientation is of no interest to me.

You sound like one of those old, bitter, insecure jacka$$es
You read like one of those pimply faced, 500lb computer slobs that has delusions of grandeur on the internet stage. Desperately seeking on-line professional respect that for some reason has eluded you in real life.

A smily 'face off'. I'm in, take this and that and my favourite

could somebody shed some lights on A330 roster? (if possible 777 as well)

How many night turn around flight monthly?
How many night turn around flight in a row?
after that, normally how many hours or days rest?
330 roster is that bad compare to 777?
i'm posting this thread coz I know how this kind of flights are painful.

Thanks previously!

Any reprieve in work load next year due to recruitment can not be counted on to continue as long as the productivity stays at 92hrs. To believe anything they say to the contrary would be folly and mean you have not been paying attention for the past decade or so.
The company does what it likes, when it likes. You are but a small cog in the machine that is EK. They care little about your days off, family or health. If the book says its legal, you will be expected to do it. Regardless of how vindictive it may seem. As soon as you understand this the pain numbs just a little.

Following the Del Amitri lyrics on another EK thread.

Hello?
Is there anybody in there?
Just nod if you can hear me.
Is there anyone at home?
Come on, now,
I hear you're feeling down.
Well I can ease your pain
Get you on your feet again.
Relax.
I'll need some information first.
Just the basic facts
Can you show me where it hurts?

Very apt.

Careful Saviboy, you cannot use "hearsay" on these boards per ROKAPE's orders... We don't care what you have "heard" from your supposed "friend" on the 777 fleet. You must follow his orders because everything on these boards must be well documented facts. Quit lying or exaggerating - you might upset ROKAPE and the sky will fall... The last thing you want to do is upset an old, super-jaded, spiteful, insecure, know-it-all pilot like ROKAPE.

Regards,

A 500 lb, pimple-faced, flight-simulator playing slob

Good for you Falcon. I know it does not apply to you as your new here, but an FO with your roster will be making about AED3000 per month less than he would have made in May 08. That allows for the pay rise this year, but does not factor in DEWA charges if needed. Lucky for you, your basic salary, and the basic salary of the guy joining in Apr 2011, will be the same as the fella that joined in May 08 as well.
But we are not here for the money are we?
When you say days at home does that include rest days?

Good on you for understanding the bid systems logic. You are a very clever chap.
