EK Pilot Recruitment Roadshows go to London.
These road shows are a great idea. They will always be populated by groups of pilots who are very happy to be seated and have their egos stroked that somewhere they are wanted by someone. The Free tea and biccies will be devoured in no time. Takes the pressure off these chaps and chapesses thinking about buying their own uniforms, paying for their airport parking, and buying their food and water on board. No wonder they never consider how the contract they are about to sign in the sand can be changed with the wind.
I am sure you would just need to show a picture of a beach with blue sky (we get them in Dec) and all the recruiting woos will be solved. Might even be able to start this popular P2F scheme if the beach pic is nice enough.
Keep discovering.

Full circle...
If the tools in recruitment just realized that the best recruitment tool for the company would be its own pilots!
I know that myself and many others have not and would not recommend EK to anyone other than those out of work or nearing the dole queue.
With Boeing predicting an additional 15-20,000 new pilots needed every year for the next 20 years, the biggest problem EK is going to have to keep TC's evil empire growing is the availability of pilots.

The secret will not be the recruitment of pilots, but to keep them working for the airline, after they realized that all the promises was smoke and mirrors and they have some new types on their licenses.!!!!!!!
I went to a LHR roadshow a couple of years ago. There were about 20 guys that turned up, (Easyjet, Thompson, etc). They left once the T&C's were put up on the screen.
I left once they told me that there were no plans to open bases outside of DXB.
Mind you, it could all change tomorrow.

I think a lot of people are waiting on the edge of their seats. Most likely the EK Management are the closest to the edge of theirs!

nosher, consider yourself lucky you're short on hours. 90+ hours month in month out, it's a friggin nightmare. Plus the leave situation is a joke, i've still got over 2 weeks to take and there is no leave to be had. Stay where you are, trust me. Don't get suckered in like the rest of us.
easyrider, who the heck told you that many?!?!?! Management 'washup' stated 850'ish in 4 years. Maybe 2000 movements in terms of right to left seat plus new suckers.

Dustyprops,
Please leave EK - for your own sake. Life is just too short to be that bitter. Go back to the UK or Emarld Isle. Think about it... Not trying to be sarcastic - just realistic when I hear so many negative posts from EK pilots. It's better to just leverage your heavy jet EK experience somewhere else where you will be happier.

Thanks for the advice Iver me ol' mate, line me up something back in the real world and i'll shake your hand and sign on the dotted line tomorrow.
As for the heavy jet thing, it means nothing, an airplane is an airplane, the only thing that matters is lifestyle, and it ain't happening here anymore. So when you hear,
it's for a reason.
